Cruz is the least mentioned, ergo he is the one they fear the most. They’re happy for the rest to run.
I’ll concede him one point - the GOP has good governors out there and would benefit from getting behind one of them early - even though that give the Alinsky-ites a target. You have to fight them eventually, anyway. Best to do it early and disarm all of their straw-men and caricatures before September, 2016 rolls around and it’s too late to change the Colbert/Stewart narrative.
Like a FReeper said, don’t be getting between a Libertarian and their hookers and coke.
Sure, but they were not anything like the political class we have today. They were farmers, soldiers, doctors, merchants, and yes, some lawyers, but they retained their professions in most cases even while they served in government.
That’s the main difference. These men really saw their tenure in government as service to the nation, and not a profession to be used to enrich themselves and their cronies.
Yes dim's always proffer such qualified candidates like 0 and Hitlery. Oh wait....
And these guys are terrified of Cruse.
These fiscal libertarians actually supported Jeff Sessions being demoted for Mike Enzi.
They did a fawning interview with fiscal hawk Cathy McMorris (probably 40 or 50% conservative rating).

What’s Rubio cosponsored. A failed amnesty bill. A bunch of wars. Some sort of bill regarding a third world basket case. Rubio actually screwed their plan for unlimited legal immigration.

“Word has it that Sessions lost his bid to become chair of the Senate Budget Committee partly because his seriously fact-challenged, anti-immigration crusade did not sit well with many senior Republicans. Let’s hope that they ignore his “handbook” and move forward piecemeal with the kind of rational immigration reforms that I laid out in the latest issue of Reason here.”
Gillespie’s candidate Gary Johnson got .99% against Beltway loyalists Obama and Romney. Imagine how much less Johnson would get with someone a little less close to the Beltway.
If a more dominant third party comes along it is going to be more in line with Pat Buchanan or Ross Perot.
Steve King, Grassley and Jeff Sessions have risen.
Hopefully Grassley wastes 2 months trying to do something on Ethanol or Wind or something that goes nowhere and saps up the time to do an amnesyt bill.
“Actually, the founders were a well educated, prosperous lot. Not Wal Martian reality show contestants.”
None of the republican contestants are so called Walmartians. They all are millionaires and some are multi billionaires.
Actually, not.
After November, RINO is conservative — you see, the Republican Party's true face is Boehner, McCain, Graham, et al.
People who value Truth, Justice, and the American Way
, they have shown, have no place for a voice within the party.
and that is exactly what is wrong with the Dems - cronyism politics. Wife's best friends that end up as AG nominees, donors that end up as ambassadors, etc, etc, etc. Our country was not designed to be run by cronyism.
“If history is any guide, Republicans will prevaricate as long as possible and make goo-goo eyes at candidates who have no meaningful experience and no real shot at winning the presidency.”

I actually agree w/ this comment. At least that’s what happened in 2012...one candidate after another lead the field...then would get shot down by something. So Romney became the nominee. It seems to me that it would be so much better if ONE conservative...most likely a Governor...could take off and stay ahead of the field...we might not end up w/ Jeb as the nominee.
And as much as it pains me to write this...I’m guessing Senator Lindsey is actually running for VP and will take on the mantle of being the BEST on foreign policy.
