Scott Walker will help create more jobs for union members than Obama has, and then they can strike, protest, bargain, and otherwise get back to doing what union workers do.
Thats solid analysis by Walker. When he was elected the voters flipped the assembly and the senate from Dem to Republican. Thats what allowed him to drive bold public employee union reform as well as concealed carry, tax cuts, pro-life measures and tax cuts.
After Obama, you dont think the Republicans are going to need the Presidency and both houses of Congress to clean up the wreckage?
Your description of a fake emotional fight is total crap. Wisconsin was nearly a war zone with lefties jetting in from all over the country.
-As Ive said before...Until you have been surrounded by TENS of THOUSANDS of angry union activists and communist fellow travelers carrying Walker is a Nazi posters’ you cant appreciate what Walker and we supporters faced. He and all the Republican legislators got death threats, his kids were stalked. It was a leftist attempted coup and parts of our family still are not speaking. —
Are you deliberately discounting the death threats and even physical assaults Walker and Republicans suffered?
For the record, I gave Walker money to defend himself in the recall election and I am on Walker’s mailing list.
But when it comes to politics in general we get fake emotional issues-speeches in election seasons followed by liberal policy afterwards.
In 1988 George H.W. Bush told the GOP convention “read my lips, no new taxes” and on another occasion he said “I’m not a card carrying member of the ACLU”.
Then once in office we got higher taxes from Bush 41 and a police war under UN-international rules in Kuwait.
“In war there is no substitute for victory”-General Douglas MacArthur.
In Wisconsin, they've been there, done that. To no avail.
Might be interesting to see how the leftards' kitchen sink and sofas strategy works out on a national level, Wisconsin being much bluer than the average state.
A proven track record?
Kindly cite a candidate with a better record of passing (advocating no cigar) anti-Progressive legislation!
I think he's referring to 2012, when Mitt Romney was deemed unacceptable around here because of being Mormon.
So who is your favorite? Who do YOU want?
I'm tired of people pulling down this-or-that candidate for not being The Political Messiah.
Of course our political class is generally a herd of cowards and liars so we need to be discerning if one varies from the herd.
And for once, we have a politician who promised to reduce spending in the State and had a plan to do that. He made it happen after his election. His spending control ignited some violence and huge demonstrations by the most powerful special interests. There were state legislators who also were threatened and verbally abused, women in their sixties.
This was not fake emotionalism, it was a trial of conservatism by fire. It should not be devalued.
Walker deserves the chance to explain what he faced as he made his conservative reforms. Conservatives at large need to understand what we are up against and how to hold other politicians up to this standard.
In short I would like to see Nigel Farage run because he has taken on both major parties in the UK and taken supporters from both of them by pointing out the major parties are beholden to elites, not the people.
Of course that isn’t going to happen because Mr. Farage was not born in this country.
America needs a Nigel Farage who can reach out to both parties.
Rand Paul does a lousy job of that.
Sarah Palin did work with Democrats in Alaska and outsider Republicans to overcome the Murkowski machine’s domination of the Republicans in the legislature. Sarah had to resign in 2009 because the Democrats abandoned her when she went national as VP candidate in 2008.
And then there’s Ted Cruz who has the potential to do that as his campaign develops.
REPUBLICANS MAKE CONSERVATIVE SPEECHES AND DEMOCRATS MAKE LIBERAL PROGRESSIVE SPEECHES, BUT WHEN THEY GOVERN THEY DO WHAT THE ELITE SPECIAL INTERESTS WANT THEM TO DO.
THEY INCREASE THE NATIONAL DEBT CEILING TOGETHER AND CUT DEALS TO RAISE TAXES AND CUT SPENDING ALA EURO STYLE AUSTERITY LIKE PAUL RYAN AND PATTY MURRAY DID IN THE LAST SESSION OF CONGRESS.
Cool, I could go for a Walker/Cruz or Cruz/Walker ticket. The two of them should make a pact to not do personal attacks on each other’s qualifications, and if one gets the nomination, the other gets picked as VP candidate.
Rather than pining over some unattainable dream, we need to find our best "available" option.
Everybody has flaws. It is the belief in the perfect candidate that leads people into supporting a con artist. Just ask the democrats.
