Cruz Could Ride ‘Unlikeability’ All the Way to the White House
Yahoo! News / The Fiscal Times ^ | March 30, 2015 | Eric Pianin

In an era of rampant anti-Washington sentiment among voters, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) wears his reputation as a conservative iconoclast and one of the least popular members of the Senate as a badge of honor.

Days after becoming the first politician to announce his candidacy for the 2016 presidential election, Cruz dismissed suggestions he’s too unlikeable and disdainful of the government process in Washington to win the White House.

---snip---

Cruz also articulated his credentials before coming to Washington, noting how they differed with Obama’s early background as a community organizer. “I spent five and a half years as the solicitor-general of Texas, the chief lawyer for the state of Texas in front of the U.S. Supreme Court,” said Cruz. “I supervised and led every appeal for the state of Texas in a 4,000 person agency with over 700 lawyers and over the course of five and a half years, over and over again, Texas led the nation defending conservative principles and winning.”(continued)

His intelligence points out the utter failure of intellect in the guy they’re currently supporting.

And, it reflects badly on O’s defenders as well.

Like always, instead of trying to compete on the level of their opponents, they’d rather destroy them.

Cruz has no problem with likeability. They may not like his idealogy though.

I agree, and I think they are really screaming afraid of the first debate their nominee has to have against Cruz. As someone who had to speak in front of the Supreme [Court], I think Cruz will eat any opponent, D or R, alive.

Oh gawd. Can you imagine what Cruz will do to Hillary Clinton in a Presidential debate, given she does not take criticism well and has a known short temper?

I’m hoping Cruz got in because he’d guessed that A WHOLE HECK OF A LOT of Americans were tired of the weak, feckless faggotry of bozo the clown president, his admiring Press and his supporting democreeps and were famishing for someone, ANYONE who had some FIGHT in him. Hell, Cruz was probably worried someone else might realize the same thing and jump in before he did. I think Cruz WANTS to fight. I don’t think he’s going to flame out...

If they’re not running scared, they should be.

Ted will play with Hillary like a cat plays with a mouse.

He’ll be bored with her after a few minutes.

Then he focus on the Left.

I am simply happy that his ‘unlikeability’ is restricted to dims and rinos but hopefully he will be able to ‘swing’ some of the dims to his thinking. ;-)

Cruz’s Likability...is based on his authenticity...

Those who insist on selling a lie...most certainly can’t tolerate that “sort of thing”

He’s way out of their league.

I have been agitating for a “High Noon” showdown between a LIEberal and a TRUE conservative my entire adult life.

In 2016, we conservatives MUST KICK a lot of LIEberal/Socialist/Marxist/Fascist ass in the Presidential, Senatorial and Congressional elections!

But to get to the General Election, we must prevail in the Primary Elections. To do that, we will have to KICK a lot of GOPe ass!

Best we start now!

PS Anybody have any ideas about how to unseat Chuckie Schumer?
