I’m a Freeper who would vote for Rand Paul over the Rino/Rove/Bush establishment. Any day. I would probably vote for Cruz in a primary. But I’m really looking forward to hearing from both of them in the debates. We have TWO tea party candidates now. (I know that the latter doesn’t appeal to all tea partiers, but he’s got a large following among at least half of them).
I think he might be a bit lazy and lack follow through. But he’s definitely got the heart of a radical small-government person and I like that.
I do think it’s time to stop the war on drugs for the most part, in the sense that it takes up too much police time and adversely affects poor blacks. I recently served on a jury in VA - I along with several other conservatives in the mix let a black guy off for self-defense - he’d previously had a non-violent felony, so he had to go down for that, but we felt he acted in self-defense. The prosecution and the media were horrible in portraying his case. There are BIG problems in the minority community and I want to be part of the solution. Our church has started an outreach to our town’s kids, and today when I was at the library I was able to enjoy talking with them because they know me now and they know how much I deeply care about them. I do think laws that favor big business and big taxes hurt minorities - it’s very hard to start a small business in this country. This is partly why they turn to underground things.
Paul’s dad is a twit. Rand probably soaked a lot of the horrible Rothbard/Rockwell stuff in over the years. But Marxism is worse. Rand’s foreign policy ideas might be absolutely horrible - we’ll see. But I’m sick of the Department of Education, etc. I’m sick of the way kids are treated in this country. I think a lot of homeschoolers are sick of Bush-style top-down educational muck. An AWFUL lot of homeschoolers will be in the Rand Paul camp. I know this because I’m part of a large homeschool organization with hundreds of thousands of students - Ron Paul is huge with them. Go figure.
To me, on many issues, Rand sounds like a mealy-mouthed apologist for the GOP-E cowardice. Oh, thanks for your endorsement of Mitch, Rand!
If Schmidt speaks well of Rand, that is enough for me to reject him.
Don’t forget Rand said that the GOP should drop the voter ID issue b/c blacks get “upset”.

When black race-baiters demand extra billion-trillions from the American tax-payers for their worthless schemes/scams and Rand as a good libertarian says we can't afford it, watch the color drain from his face as all the black race-baiters whose backs he slapped call him a dirty old racist.
No matter how hard he panders to blacks, he'll always be one turn down away from being Evil Whitey.
