NASHUA, N.H. – Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker has attended a wedding reception for a gay couple, he said Sunday, though the potential 2016 contender still believes marriage should be between a man and a woman.
“That’s certainly a personal issue. For a family member, Tonette and I and our family have already had a family member who’s had a reception. I haven’t been at a wedding,” Walker said when msnbc asked whether he would be willing to attend a gay wedding. “That’s true even though my position on marriage is still that it’s defined between a man and a woman, and I support the constitution of the state. But for someone I love, we’ve been at a reception.”
The Wisconsin state constitution had banned gay marriage until a federal judge ruled the ban unconstitutional in 2014. Wisconsin newspapers reported that Walker attended a reception for his wife’s cousin, Shelli Marquardt, shortly thereafter. After a brief period, an appeal halted gay marriages in Wisconsin — but they resumed late last year when the Supreme Court rejected the appeal.
Walker isn’t the only potential GOP candidate willing to attend such events. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who announced his presidential bid last week, told the cable network Fusion that he would participate.
“If there’s somebody that I love that’s in my life, I don’t necessarily have to agree with their decisions or the decisions they’ve made to continue to love them and participate in important events,” Rubio said....

You vote in every election. By not voting, you are voting by default for whomever wins because your absence helped get him elected.
So that makes it OK to celebrate a perversion of His clearly expressed teaching on sexual behavior? I would think twice about leaping to that conclusion.
But we did vote for conservative (R) down ballot.

If the GOP decides to run a liberal, that's on them.
They won't get my vote unless they are also conservative.
Blaming the voter is a bad choice of salesmanship. Selecting a conservative (R) is good salesmanship.

In 2012 cycle, I had hoped Perry would win, but I would have voted for Romney to keep Obama out.
This election cycle, I hope Cruz gets it, but I would vote for any of them, except for Bush, to keep Hilary from winning.
If Bush gets the nomination, I can’t tell the difference between the two.
Lay off the Rush lyrics, dude. You (most likely) didn't vote in a single high school prom King and Queen election in any school in the United States in many years... that doesn't mean that you actually helped elect any of the ones who did win.

There seems to be division on this issue even among conservatives, but personally, I would not attend a homosexual “wedding”. Not even if it were a relative. I’m not holier than anybody else (probably less so), but for me it would be like spitting in the face of God.
I have a friend whose sister decided she was a lesbian. This sister is a tyrant with her lifestyle...she uses it as a club, or a form of extortion. And she made clear to her family that anyone who refused to attend her “wedding” would never see her again.
I’d have said, well...bye.
I cannot believe how many unmitigated morons are on FR these days. He did not court ANYONE. He was asked a trap question by a media member who wants to scuttle his nomination. He answered it honestly, by noting a family event that he attended that might pleasantly surprise many of the knee-jerk haters on the Left... so the knee-jerk morons on the Right go after him instead. SMH.
