Sanders and Trump are making the race a lot more interesting
Washington Post ^ | July 2, 2015 | Paul Waldman

according to the Huffington Post Pollster poll average, Donald Trump now sits atop the GOP field with an average of 13.6 percent support, nosing out Jeb Bush at 13.3. Yes, that difference is essentially meaningless, and yes, those are very small numbers to begin with. But it’s still alarming to see Trump’s name at the top of the list, to say the least.

I know and you know Trump is not a gifted orator like Ted Cruz. But I give high marks to Trump for shining light on the illegals issue with courage. Trump can afford to be courageous because he does not depend on sugar daddy’s to keep him in a long drawn out campaign. None of the other candidates running in 2016 can survive a year long primary campaign without a sugar daddy or two.

I will bet you a dollar to a donut, if others did not needrich donors, may be a few of them would openly come out against keeping the illegals in the country. I am happy to see Cruz has supported Trump for having the courage to open this can of worms.

Wouldn’t it be wild if those two end up facing each other in the general election?

Something else. I would like to see a poll of this matchup

Good points. And the media lapdogs will do anything to protect PIAPS, including being “roped” by campaign aides to keep them away.

I agree. Cruz and Trump are looking good to me right now. I’d gladly vote for either.

Trump made $8 billion. Just a blowhard? Not exactly.

Fifteen years later, Trump was interviewed by a pro gun guy/group and he says AR-15s are covered by the 2nd Amendment. I’ve read his son who owns guns and ARs have helped him change his viewpoint.

Last year, Trump attending a NY Anti-SAFE Act rally:

“I’m a big Second Amendment person,” said Trump before a crowd of about 3,500. “I’m a big, strong believer in it … I wanted to be here to support you. I’ll be with you no matter where you are.”

“You have the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. You have that right and they want to take it away,” Trump continued. “And they are taking it away, slowly but surely, they are taking it away.”

The event was designed to protest the NY SAFE Act, the sweeping gun control law passed in the wake of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, as well as the man behind the law, Gov. Andrew Cuomo.”

"Personally all I need is a 12 guage and a Glock to defend my home from intruders."

The Second Amendment is about more than that.

I believe you, though, from the standpoint of self-defense. That's also true for many people in cities. But many rural people need semi-automatic rifles. The possibility of being attacked from great distances by snipers is real for them. Many of them live in houses with no nearby cover, and there are no police nearby.

"Shouldn’t we be getting the semi-automatics now, and the bolt actions later?"

That's possible. But if possession of semi-automatic rifles is outlawed, they'll go after owners one at a time in each community. They'll start with individuals easiest to defame, least likely to afford lawyers, and work their way up. They'll arrive before dawn in each occurrence to clear and/or breach and/or kill any security and greet sleeping residents. Defamation of said residents will follow in local newspapers nearly simultaneously. I have insights.

There are 90 parts of the following, if you're interested. Enjoy.

I still think most will settle for Jebbie; it’s his turn even though he hasn’t run before. A Bush always gets a pass from the uninformed Republican voters.

Thanks, Red Steel (sincerely)! I’ll make it a little tougher, though. ;-)

Can we trust Trump on what he said? What’s the score on politicians keeping promises so far? Most of the gun control efforts have been class-based and group-based so far. They peck away from the fringes, inward, and from the bottom, up. That’s how they eventually surround those who believe themselves to be superior and immune.

Have you seen some of the fears of those most influential in politics? Gun control advocates are not mainly after low income people on food stamps, divorced/separated men or criminals. Among other things, they’re preparing for a laid off, well armed, angry middle class. The default process continues.

Walker is the only one who has a record of cutting spending on those who suck up the most to the most influential political folks—many of those lesser politicos who lend numbers to supporting gun control for now.

Some things to think about...

Thanks again for the info. I’ll read and consider any information that you offer. Don’t have much time for TV here, so I miss much of what others see.

Not sure if people in rural area are in as much danger as the poor folks living in big city ghetto’s. It is criminal to take their guns away by imposing restrictions and fees. Every American has the right to defend life and property with firearms. But not cannons and howitzers and mortars. Those are military grade weapons.

To say the illegal Mexican border crossing is not the major problem, is not accepting reality. Then to use your false statement to justify calling The Donald a clown tells me you just wanted to call The Donald a clown—without justification.

Without a doubt, there needs to be a complete overhaul of the tax codes and mass repeal of regulations. Our high corporate taxes and regulations have sent jobs and money out of our country.

I like that Cruz wants to focus on this to bring jobs back and to return the 2 trillion dollars investment money currently offshore.
