For Republicans fearful of Donald Trump becoming their partyâs presidential nominee, a new Suffolk University/Boston Globe poll of likely New Hampshire Republican primary voters offers a three-word solution: Willard Mitt Romney.
If the former Massachusetts governor were added to the mix of the 14 other Republican candidates running in the Feb. 9 first-in-the-nation presidential primary, New Hampshire voters would, if the election were held now, give him a 2-to-1 win over Trump, the leader of the field.
Romney, who said as recently as last week that he is not interested in running, did not file for the New Hampshire primary ballot by the deadline last Friday. He would have the support of 31 percent of Granite State Republicans compared with 15 percent backing Trump, the poll indicates....

All the more reason to vote TRUMP.
They should also poll Bill Clinton and Obama against Hillary. How about JFK against Hillary?
Little jebbie bushy is a total waste of human flesh, sorry, I usually don't like being down and dirty, but this is over the top...
‘Waaa I can't have my own way mommy and daddy and little brother, so I want you do step in and fight my battles for me’ whining twerp...
Does this maybe mean that NH poll participants were selected for their lack of attention and ignorance. Romney is not a candidate, has said countless times he is not running, and has done absolutely nothing to suggest otherwise. Yet here, when presented with him as a candidate, they pick him. Stupid.
Ha - or Jimmy Carter vs. Hillary. That would really be embarrassing!
i have always thought Romney might be a decent man
but his politics are simply NOT what we need now
to repair the damage of the last 7 years
besides, having both parties running losers, people the American voters have already turned down at least once?
what kind of choice is that for the Ameican people?
Quick! Somebody tell these jugheads that Willard doesn’t want to be president.
I call BS on this so-called poll. Who would conduct a poll with someone’s name on it who isn’t even a candidate. This must be a poll from 2012 when Trump was considering running. Either way - it’s total BS.
“N.H. primary poll puts non-candidate Romney first.” Talk about obfuscation, why does does this wholly owned “newspaper” of the NY Slime just simply state a true headline without subversion? A guess would not be dificult. Think nonsense—never let simple truth get in the way of the agenda, never.
Personally, if people are going to do “fantasy polling” (my word for it)....let’s put down Coolidge, Reagan, and Terry Bradshaw. If it’s going to be fake....let’s make it four star fake then.
I’m pretty sure that most folks would vote for Reagan again, and Bradshaw might actually come in third after Trump.
See what happens when you have a low voter turnout at the primaries.
Money talks !
That is why the GOPe wants to control the primaries, the debates(?), the convention rules, etc., etc...
I am surprised that Rince Prebus doesnt run , or even Crazey Karl , ..himself !!
This is what they did weeks ago when it looked as though Biden would be running. Float the trial balloon a while, allow the startlement to fade. Allow the concept of “X” running to take root. In Biden’s case, the roots never went very deep, and the balloon was quickly shot down be Hillary’s, Coven.
if the GOPe runs Mutt, look for a complete mutiny
I already have cases of good booze to keep me comatose if this loser runs. Please tell me there’s NO CHANCE he’ll run.
Just ran for a drink now. Need another.
There fixed it
This country has been in a death spiral since FDRâs New Deal and been accelerating since Johnsonâs War on Poverty.
Nixon did what he could to make things worse with the War on Drugs and the EPA.
Any new president is going to have a monumental job stopping the decline let alone reversing the trend.
That New Hampshire even has a Republican Party must be an affirmative action program for the people of New England.
There might be a couple conservative people in New England so we better have a Republican Party in the state so they have self-esteem but we'll have Democrats fill it up so that they do themselves any harm.
I actually know this is true in Vermont. I saw a debate that Bernie Sanders had with the Republican candidate running for his seat. The RINO basically told the audience that they should vote for Bernie.
We could all use another drink anyway, but I think it’s too late for Romney. He’s missed the deadlines for registration in too many states. That’s not to say he couldn’t hurt a prominent Republican nominee such as Trump, Carson, or Cruz — by endorsing them!
I'm not a Bush fan by any measure. But the man was Governor of the State of Florida. So tone it down and learn to have some respect for the millions of conservative Floridians who, with deliberation, elected him to that office. Yes I fault Jeb Bush fatally for his moral failure to stop the execution of Terry Schiavo. And for being pro-amnesty. But you are too predictable with your visceral in-your-face off-the-wall man-hate. Too bad you can't find a lefty/feminist website. Where your psychosis would have a far more appreciative audience.
Understood especially about Johnson etc. we will be very lucky if USA can just fix The immense damage of the last seven years IMHO. But I’m not arguing with your long term perspective.
