Would you rather have Hillary?
Rubio is better than Hillary. He is not my first choice, not my second choice, and not even my third, fourth, or fifth choice, but it does us no good destroying him because despite his problems he is still better than Hillary.
Do you remember how we formed a circular firing squad with Romney and ended up destroying a candidate who would have been miles better than Obama. Good choice! /s
Also, I am assuming you were commenting on my point that Trump has risk of not being what he claims to be because of lack of a track record - it is true, get over it. It is your business if you still think he is the best candidate, but Trump doesn’t have a history of fighting the good fight like Cruz does.
Yes, I know it’s Carson fault that Ted stabbed him in the back.
Everyone knows Ted can’t control himself and will stick his knife in whoever isn’t watching him. Carson is an idiot he should have known just like everyone else knows except him.
And I don’t give a damn s*** about Trump, okay. He’s either going to win or he’s not, it’s up to him, he’s the master of win, who cares.
Whoever wins the nomination gets my vote, even if it’s old Knife in Your Back Ted, mmmkay.
I’m not going to sit here and pretend that he isn’t a slithering snake.
You can, but I ain’t.
Yes, I agree that we win if Cruz, trump, or Rubio is elected over Hillary.
I can’t argue that point at all, so that is why I am going to vote for whoever gets the nomination regardless of what I am saying about them.
But I’m going to be perfectly honest with you and tell you that I don’t really think that any of our candidates are particularly good.
I’d like to tell you that hey Trump is better than Cruz. But I can’t.
Trump has some very serious and obvious flaws. They don’t appear to be the same flaws that Ted has, but he’s got them alright. Ted has got his own flaws. I don’t believe that he is what he is passing himself off to be. He does not behave as an honorable man. Neither does Rubio.
I’m an honest man. I’ve got to tell the truth about people, especially those who want power. They deserve to be scrutinized.
I don’t like what I am seeing here in Ted and Rubio, and I don’t like how people ignore obvious signs of trouble.
Yes, the exact same thing can be said of Trump supporters, and I’ve done it myself.
But I don’t want to do it anymore.
We might beat Hillary by electing these guys, but we aren’t going to be saving America by electing them. These guys, none of them, or going to be the one to reverse course.
As John Kasich loves to say -at the end of the day- we are still going to be moving in the wrong direction.
It’s not about the total. It’s about ethics.
If team Cruz would have shown some humility by saying they should have vetted the information and would try to get to the bottom of it and would work to ensure the integrity of the voting process, then I think they could have avoided a lot of blowback.
I don’t think that would happen because I think they would do anything to win if they had to. It’s not about the final numbers as it is about integrity.
They didn’t vet the information. Negligence.
I seriously worry that if Ted were president, he might get bad intel from CNN and nuke Denmark. Then blame it on CNN (or Trump. I can hear it now, “Trump’s fault! Trump’s fault!)
Since when does context define what is ethical and what isn’t?
Does the 9th Commandment excuse lying if the lie has no measurable effect?
Does the 8th Commandment excuse theft if that which is stolen isn’t of sufficient value?
Maybe man’s law makes those distinctions, but God’s law doesn’t.
You really have lost the plot. You said nothing when Palin was attacked and now you’re dismissing Cruz’s disgusting dirty trick.
Oh, please. A Cruz supporter yesterday accused me of being a racist because I don’t support the first Hispanic to be prez - Cruz! He wasn’t kidding either. You can imagine what I said to that.
Keep in mind that this is a caucus, not a vote. Electioneering at my polling place is a crime. Electioneering at a caucus is the purpose of the format. Advocates are supposed to argue for their candidates, and they normally present prepared information and breaking news in the best or worst possible light.
CNN did report (accurately) that Carson was leaving the campaign trail and imply (inaccurately) that he was suspending his campaign. Cruz and Rubio were right to relay that information to caucus attendees. Both relayed that information both before and shortly after Carson corrected it, but it’s absurd to demand an instant turnaround from Carson to CNN to Cruz advocates on the floor of the caucus sites.
Besides, it’s not a Cruz advocate’s job to correct information spread in good faith that turns out not to be accurate. Carson had lots of supporters with smart phones and coordinators who should have had access to the correction. Carson supporters should have checked the report on their own initiative (and probably did and found information implying that it was true, just like what the Cruz supporters saw).
Integrity is extremely important to me, but this is not an integrity question for Cruz or other candidates who spread that rumor. CNN, which hates all conservatives and especially hates Carson for being a black who dares to campaign as a republican, either was sloppy under time pressure or created mischief on purpose.
As the threat title says, CNN tossed a loaded pistol into the mix. Cruz and Rubio did what candidates are supposed to do with relevant information that helps their campaign. [Note: I like Carson and despise Rubio, but if only Rubio had spread the rumor, I would say the same thing. I have been at Iowa caucuses, and, except for CNN being wrong, this is how it is supposed to work.]
So you are saying Cruz outsleazed Trump? What does that say about Canadian values?
People keep posting these saying âCarson brought it on himself,â âit didnât make a difference in who won,â etc. Thatâs not the point. Cruz build his support by presenting himself as a principled man, and someone in his campaign did something very, very UNprincipled, on the level of Clinton ops.

Nonsense, it is called politics. Carson screwed up Cruz ran with it.
Carson isn’t even going to a primary state until today for the ABC debate. he suspended his campaign and laid of 40% of his staff in one of the most important weeks of the campaign , and announced more people being discharged after NH.
Whether he is currently a legitimate candidate is a fair question to ask his supporters.
Currently Rubio supporters are essentially asking the supporters of Christie Kasich Bush Fiorina the very same question.
Want to win an election against Clinton or Sanders?
You’d better be ready to play bare knuckles hardball POLITICS.
Reagan used Lee Atwater to get to the WH read up on him and get back to us.
Does not come close to the sleezeball trump is with his ny values. My mom used to wash my mouth out with soap when i used his language. Real claassy candidate ya got there.
If team Cruz would have shown some humility by saying they should have vetted the information and would try to get to the bottom of it and would work to ensure the integrity of the voting process, then I think they could have avoided a lot of blowback.

2 points.
Given the timing there was time to vet the information. You use it or you don’t. The Cruz people are guilty of underestimating how incompetent and amateurish the Carson campaign is. THe guy has blown through more $$$ than anyone else and is broke.
Second he has functionally suspended his campaign this week. He hasn’t made any campaign appearances in either SC or NH. He laid off 40% of his staff nationally and is laying off more after the NH primary according to his campaign.
As the ex Carson staffer indicates this is a self inflicted wound borne of total incompetence. Carson needs to man up on this.
In spite of this he outperformed his polling so it is hard to see the damage.
I do not care much about cursing. I spent 25 years in the military and was around a lot of people who did. It has been my experience that people who curse are no less able or honorable than people who don’t. I have been known to do it myself on occasion. There are recent studies out which posit that people who curse are smarter. Who would have thought that years ago?
A so called world class businessman and potential president should not talk like a drunk sailor on leave in tokyo, It shows his immaturity.
Iowa was last Monday, NH is in three days!
Get over it!
I’ll be damned if I’ll get over it and neither will Trump/Carson or the press get over it. In fact, you better get used to it.
For those who have moved on, I say tonight will prove whether the press has moved on. I suspect this will be a question for the debate tonight. Cruz better have a ready answer for them.
