Newt and Rick didn’t concede until Apr last go round.

When Cruz is mathematically unable to achieve the nomination is fine.

If he continues beyond that ... we will know where his loyalties lie.

"He's like a fight that has been knocked down three times throwing roundhouse punches."

We're going to have to start calling him "Smokin' Joe" Cruz!

(Do you remember this matchup between "Smokin' Joe" Frazier and the big guy?)

"Down goes Frazier!"

According to the Chronological Cumulative Allocation of Delegates on Green Papers, 1489 delegates have been allocated through yesterday. That leaves 983 delegates still to be selected. Of that, 28 from ND, 37 from CO, 9 from American Samoa and 54 from PA will go to the convention as unpledged, leaving 855 pledged delegates available.

If you look at the RCP delegate tracker, they show 1526 delegates allocated leaving only 946 delegates still to be awarded. The only difference is that RCP shows CO as already awarded.

So both of those site agree that the number of delegates available lower than 1000. And in both cases, the number of available pledged delegates is 855. So Trump needs 564 out of 855 to be sure of a first ballot win, or 66% of the remaining delegates. If Kasich and Cruz get to 300 combined, Trump cannot get to 1237.

Cruz only has to win 55-45% only going forward. Nothing to it.

“He won’t just hand over the keys to the country to this faux conservative.”

Don’t look now, but we don’t need a conservative at this point. A conservative is not going to beat Hildabeast. We need a nationalist. Go Trump...

I agree for the good of the country. But it doesn’t look like he will. All these guys have big egos and I think Cruz’s is bigger than some realize.

Well, I'd say the only reason some folks are asking Cruz to call Trump and perform the proskynesis is because they're worried that Cruz might get the 8 states, and might actually be able to win at the Convention.

If it truly was a foregone conclusion, then Trump supporters wouldn't care whether Cruz hung up his spurs or not.

It would be the smart move, but I think Ted has bought the GOPe BS that he might be the candidate. Ted they have no intention of crowning you, they will give it to Kasich, and laugh in your face as they do it.

“Nope. All Kasich and Cruz have to do is combine for a total of 300 delegates in the upcoming states, and we have an open convention.”

And the GOP will be destroyed, once and for all; that you don’t know that is stunning.

I think so too. Take the SCOTUS post and be done with it.

If Trump gets the nomination, the party is destroyed already.

It’s a forgone conclusion. I don’t care if Cruz hangs up his Spurs or not. It’s only going to get worse as the northeast and mid-Atlantic races come up.

Earlier today I just said I hope he joins the ticket as VP. [snort]

Now I have about as much respect and affection for him as I would for a six foot adult segmented tapeworm.

I think it’s a certainty that Trump will be the nominee even if the battles continue. I also think that the sooner the battle ends the better off we will all be. We are too busy trying to destroy each other.

But I think Cruz isnt there yet. And I don’t think pushing is going to help.

“Trump won’t have 1237 going into the convention and certainly won’t get to 1237 on a second ballot!”

If you think they will then give it to Cruz, you are truly demenTED.

Ted was displaying his common core math on Megyn Motormouth tonite.

Forget his fantasies about beating him head-to-head and other nonsense. His problem is that he doesn't even realize the ramification of his New York Values condescension. He is exactly like Mark Levin in failing to understand that running for the primary is different than the general. Ted is running for the primary only, and I'm starting to wonder if it is mere ignorance or if he is intentionally trying to get nominated to lose the general.

Even up to the last debate he was visibly criticizing (D)emocrats as a party and accusing Trump of being one as if the only people watching the debate were registered (R)epublicrats. What kind of possible pivot could he pull to walk back all those smears in an effort to try to get their crossover votes. News Flash, real "conservatives" are probably a mere 1/5th of the electorate today, the (R)epublicrats of every flavor are less than half.

Without crossovers we lose. Wake up Ted! We have no silent majority or deep bench of stay-at-home voters to erase the deficit of 51 years of full scale demographic warfare waged on America. The attrition of patriots sent home to God being replaced by naturalized invaders and welfare rats is making each and every day worse than the last.

Nixon reportedly said to Run to the base in the primary and back to the center in the general as the simple formula. Trump has smartly refined it a bit by running to the base but with a minimum of antagonizing the enemy party as an entity, leaving the door open to massive crossovers like Reagan got in 1984 when he personally hammered Mondale without badmouthing the entire (D)ummycrat machine.

Ted Cruz is undergoing a learning experience at the moment, and he is failing according to what I saw on TV. If he could make up with Trump and help him cross the finish line rather than continually act like a petulant child, then we could possibly win this thing. It still won't be easy even with a united force. The electoral map is way against us. We're in deep trouble in all circumstances but Ted has a chance to make it less troubling. I think he is completely brainwashed by his sycophants though. No-one so allegedly intelligent could believe most of the things coming out of his mouth even today.
