millions of Mexicans working in the United States to collect U.S. Social Security benefits in Mexico after as little as 18 months in the United States, instead of the current 10 years.

I wouldn't mind them raising the retirement age to 70 so that Americans would have to work 50 years before collecting Social Security ----- but instead they intend to turn around and give our Social Security money to people who worked in the US illegally for 18 months and never paid a dime in? Something is wrong with that. Plus making Americans pay taxes on the money they get back but they put in in the first place.

I don't think anyone is trying to stop a massive invasion from the south ---- they're planning to give our Social Security now to anyone who can come up with a stolen social security number and claim they once used it here or worked illegal for cash for a few months. Why wouldn't millions of people not want to get in on that? A month's Social Security is more money than many make in one year in Mexico.

This has happened in cases in which an undocumented immigrant uses a relative's Social Security card to obtain work and then gets some of his wages deducted for Social Security purposes.

In one case, a Mexican man who used his father's Social Security number for nine years in the 1970s claimed after becoming a legal resident in 1989 that he was owed benefits. He began collecting benefits in 1999.

And a Mexican woman who worked illegally under an invalid Social Security number for six years in the 1990s later petitioned for credit. She began receiving disability benefits in 1999.

Aside from the illegality of their immigration status when paying social security taxes which apparently doesn't matter when attempting to collect benefits, isn't using someone else's social security number some type of fraud?

Obviously it's felony fraud to present stolen Social Security numbers. We're going to reward the very worst types ---- but don't worry ---- there will be plenty who will come up with a number and claim they used it ---- even though they never did ---- there is no way to prove they worked here.

And this guy here --- admits he sent every penny to Mexico --- not to Social Security ---- that was for the rest of us to do. He will get his check from the money WE put in.

18 months. I don't think Americans are eligible for SS after only 18 months. That's 18 months at minimum wage too, most likely. What does that work out to? They'd have to pay in what, $500 bucks if that, for a lifetime of checks? Plus with the direct deposit into accounts in Mexico don't be suprised when the average lifespan of a Mexican receiving SS benefits shoots up to over 100 years. In fact, most of them will probably never die.

They are estimating only 50,000 mexicans would collect SS the first year. Illegals in Texas could collect that the first year. You know as well as I know that we have at least 50,000 elderly here in Texas who would have no problem collecting it.

Yes, it does. It is accelerating at a rapid rate. Why? I think that our supposed government wants to totally destroy Americans...especially the American born citizen. There is the Dream Act whereby they endanger the future of OUR children's education. They have already destroyed the public school system. When I was growing up in California we had the best schools in the country. Now the California schools are down to something like 44th. I attribute this dismal downward tread mostly to illegal immigration. Now they don't want our children and grandchildren to get a college education. Apparently we are so much of a threat to them (!) that they want us destroyed totally. First they dumb our children down. Then they talk to us like we're idiots and completely and totally disregard our wishes regarding illegal immigration. Then they want to give OUR social security money away. We are living in an unbelievable time. We are watching the wanton destruction of the greatest country in history. It is being destroyed by lying, cheating, treacherous, hypocritical scum who we (the citizens) thought we elected to "represent" us. This is becoming a real nightmare. Something will give and soon. I'm just glad I've got my Smith & Wesson 357 Magnum at the ready because I'm not going down without a fight.

They're giving a purposely low estimate. Just takes common sense to figure out a giveaway like this will attract millions of claims. After all, article acknowledges some 5 million illegals currently here. How many millions of more have been here, or will come up with a way to claim they've been here? How can we verify their claim when we never had proof they were here in the first place? Illegal alien means no background check coming or going. We don't know who's been here and who hasn't.

Sounds like there's going to be a booming business in fradulent work backgrounds. More job opportunities for the criminal element anyway.

The population of Mexico is around 100,000,000. It would not surprise me at all to have 50,000,000 cross the border the very day this is announced.

I am not exaggerating this as many of the border towns have a population of 1,000,000 or more.
