FNC is not doing much to instill confidence in their operation over the past few weeks.

I agree with you. Since I live in the L.A. area, I've been watching local news for fire coverage. But when I have checked the cable news channels, it seemed to me that CNN was doing the best job of covering the fires.

As for the Peterson thing, ever since the ratings bonanza that was the OJ Simpson case, the cable news networks have tried to find at least one or two criminal cases a year to hype. Shameful. As for me, if I never hear the name Peterson again, it will be too soon.

Obviously a disgruntled Yale grad student, from that description.

Thanks for the ping. Fox is now covering it, too.

In the DC area, if you take I395 north, you'll wind up smack dab in the middle of Anacostia.

For those of you who don't know where that is, it's the reason why DC was (or still is?) the murder capitol of the US.

At least the idiot reporter has his finger to his ear, signifying the importance of the story.

I don't think so; they didn't mention a headband -- HOWEVER, they did say "sunglasses on the top of her head" so you could be right

Why am I thinking of that idiot college student that put the box cutters in the planes

"I guess I don't get it. I don't see anything more frightening about a guy with a gun in a Congressional office building than in any other office building"

You need to get out more.

Can I ask a stupid question? Why isn't there some provision made at the checkpoints for restraining someone who attempts to get in with a weapon?

If these folks really, really need a Congressional hostage... let me generously offer up my own -- the delightful, erudite, rational Gentlelady from Mars, Ms. Sheila Jesse-Jackson-Lee (aka "Queen Sheila").

It's a huge sacrifice, but one I am willing to make for my country.

That about sums it up.

Anacostia is to DC as Compton is to LA.
