I have tried to get the list of RLS sponsors but can't seemed to find it.

the liberals can't understand how Rush hasn't lost any support,

You better wait before you proclaim that unprovable "truth".

Get back to me in six months or a year with the arbitron ratings.

Maybe he could start off with something a little controversial, such as Donovan McNabb's QB rating.

Let's start with a commentary on the WOD by El Rushbo.

Oh, his lawyers will say say he can't talk about it,,,in perpetuity.

I just hope and pray he can stay off the pills. They are pernicious and very hard to kick, or so they say.

Good way to soften the blow for any future problems. Apologise even before it happens.

Actually, what I meant to say was, "I just hope and pray he can stay off the pills. They are pernicious and very hard to kick, or so they say."

No apologizing in advance. I think Rush deserves credit for everything he has done and hope that he has success in future endeavors. No agenda here.

I think Rush deserves credit for everything he has done GOT.

A little editing makes us agree.

Makes us agree, huh?

How many people you got over there?

In any case, I think Rush did not get any great penalty here. He's gone to rehab, and by all accounts is doing well and will likely kick the pills. He'll come back to the radio, and likely will pick up his existing audience. He could lose two-thirds of them and still have the most popular show on the radio.

I know that some folks want to see Rush suffer and taken down a peg. I don't happen to agree. Sure he's obnoxious and insufferable on the radio, but that's good radio! If I want to listen to some quivering Casper Milquetoast, I'll tune into NPR!

I agree with most of what you said. Clearly you are not an idolator like many who need to get their own life and stop living through some radio personality who throws raw meat to those hungry for anything other than liberalism.

I just think his feet should be held to the fire in the same way as he holds everyone else's to it.

He exocriated drug users for years and now he is one. He advocated prison for people who have done precisely what he did. Now let's see if he comments on it or changes his mind. I won't hold my breath for either.

Huh? I believe he's only made 2 comments in the last 8 yrs on drug users...That's hardly "excoriating drugusers for years"...

The Maharushie spoke and it has come to pass. Another shift in the "right" direction.

Rush's rant

"What this says to me," he told his listeners that day, "is that too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales. Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law. The answer is to go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too."

When he repudiates this, come and talk to me.

Rush does not repudiate his former statements. He will cop to be joking from time to time, but he simply will not go back and correct himself on the record. To do so would be to invite the opportunity to be corrected on any of the thousands of d*mn fool things he has said on the air over the past twenty years. It is not possible to do good radio and be right all the time. Rush chooses to do good radio.

That's why the "always right" bit is satire.

If this is a deal-breaker for you, that leaves 19,999,999 other people to tune in. I'm sure EIB will get by.

There is no deal breaker for me. I don't slavishly listen to any entertainment program.

Millions of his listeners are emotionally attached to the show. I feel sorry for them.

But you are just speculating on how many of them will be left in a year. I predict many less listeners. When they realize that it's all showbiz, as you have described. They will drift away one by one, never quite admitting to themselves they were taken for a ride.

Time will tell.

I, myself, think that the media stereotype of the typical Rush listener is a little too biased toward the knuckle-dragger. Sure, you'll have quite a few of that type of person in any group of 20 Million people, but I don't think they were ever typical. I think the average listener was always able to differentiate between the bravado and the kernel of truth.

Now Rush is going to have to be forthright with people, tell them that he is not perfect, and move on. Knowing Rush, he'll move on with typical hyperbole, claiming to be perfect, invincible, and able to defeat the Libs even when half-in-the-bag. But that's why he's fun to listen to!

Rush is a clever guy. He'll land on his feet.

They are all over this site. It's not scientific, but if they are any indication of the ratio, there are plenty. But they aren't the ones who made him rich. It was the people who tuned in from time to time and they will tune in less and less often I'm guessing.

Will be doing nothing but listening to the EIB Network for three solid hours as the Maja Rushie returns to the golden mike.

We're waitin' for ya Rush and we're all pullin' for you. We knew you could do this. Now we are ready and can't wait until the 17th to hear your beautiful voice again.

Give 'em hell Rush...they didn't think you would be back but all your faithful listeners and advertisers and stations had faith in you and now you are coming back bigger and better than before. I can't wait and Rush will always have my prayers. He's the BEST!
