Hannity & Colmes had Ollie North talking about it last night. Also had some jerk giving the other point of view, saying that this was standard political practice. Ollie kept saying 'not on the intel committee'.

The story was systematically and carefully ignored by most of the media except for FOX. It never got the full press it sorely deserved. The best news is that Frist has closed the committee except for emergency-type issues. So far the Dims haven't officially disavowed the memo. Nobody's head has rolled.

Mia, I am glad you picked up on Bayh's statement. I think he is the one who gave the memo to Sean, especially because he has been hawkish on the war and defense in general. In addition, I think he wants to run for president in 2008, and stopping Hillary in her tracks would be a handy accomplishment.

A scandal shut down the Senate Intelligence Committee last week after a memo was leaked to media which revealed a Democrat plot to use classified information against President Bush in the 2004 elections. The memo was prepared by a staffer at the request of Committee Vice Chairman Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) and detailed a plan to string the committee chairman, Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS), along until the Democrats "pulled the trigger" on an investigation of their own.

I think the author meant to say - memo prepared at the request of J. Rockefeller under the direction of H. Clinton.

We need to let every member of congress know how we feel on this. Don't worry about not being in there State. Tell them you know people and have family all over this country and will let them what there congress person is doing on this. Also tell them we will start a e-mail campaign to everyone we know.
