Classic!
I'm partial to "pomp and circumstance" (some Brit blood in my heritage mixture) and love seeing Queen Elizabeth look so engaged, pretty and happy. President Bush seems to have formed a bond of friendship with her.
Doesn't look like the protestors won the day during President Bush's visit, does it? Toppling an effigy of our president and calling him the world's most dangerous terrorist says a lot about them. (They're backward idiots.)
Prime Minister Blair and President Bush have also formed a warm bond of friendship which evidently was strengthened and sealed during their vist to Duncow.
I find myself contrasting this distinguished and solemn state visit (with appropriate lighthearted moments) to what we would've seen had it been X42 instead of President Bush. Interesting images that brings to mind.
I agree with you. Honor and dignity have been restored to the White House.

Regarding the dignity, As best as I can tell, in many photos including the Queen and the First Lady, Mrs Bush seems to have lost her pocketbook.
I regret having to make this observation, but so far the FReepers who comment on such things seem absent.

Haven't heard anything about her being injured in the news, but it's probably nothing to be concerned about.
I'm surprised that Reagan never visited Thatcher at 10 Downing Street; I thought the two of them were extremely close.
The President looks so vigorous and strong, but I cannot believe how elegant and positively radiant Mrs. Bush looks. With a little extra touch of formality, just to reassure the Queen that she isn't going to do something silly just because she's an American . . . :-D
I hesitate to post this -- those without strong stomachs avert your eyes -- but just compare and contrast this:
They just look like trashy tourists who don't know how to behave. And Her Majesty looks quite unhappy.
I challenge anyone to find a compareble picture of Bubba. i think you will find that all pictures of X42 the Marine will be saluting while BUBBA will be totally ignoring him and showing his desrespect for the military.
