The BCS will not die, unfortunately. It's like a roach.

Amen to that. I'm sick of all the posturing and statistics. Let's have a playoff system to settle this whole thing.

I know one thing. Sports radio is going to be hilarious on Monday. Mark Patrick on Sports (XMRadio) is my favorite.

Nebraska did it in 2001. Colorado scored 62 points and beat Nebraska. That defeat kicked Nebraska out of the Big 12 championship game but not the national championship game.

No, we don't need a playoff system. We need to recognize that putting in a playoff system would put too much of a load on the students involved, and that not having an undisputed national champion will not mean the end of Western Civilization.

playoff system I'd like to see 8 Division I conferences, with the 8 conferences winners advancing to a playoffs. ....Title game to be played at the Rose Bowl on New Years Day.

Oklahoma did not lose.
They got smacked - whacked - cracked and took an all around a$$-kicking!
I like it when the "underdog" tips the cart over - ha!
Lawyer crap: - I neither endorse or support any team involved in the game tonight.

Every other NCAA division does it in football with no problem, and many of those schools are far more rigorous in their academics. Every other NCAA sport does it, with no problem. With an 8 team playoff(4 BCS bowls on/around New Years, as usual) only 4 teams would have extra games.

You said it!
This will make for some interesting talk with my brother; we grew up as part of
SoonerNation when Oklahoma was Switzer-Land.
I got to see just a couple of plays on the tube...the OU defense looked like it
might have done better by not being on the field.
In-freakin'-credible.

And then Nebraska lost to... Oh yeah, the Miami HURRICANES!!!
USC #1, LSU #2, OU at best #3, probably #4 based on the whuppin put on 'em tonight (at least in the "human" polls).
Strong possibility that the #1 and #2 teams in both "human" polls will not play for a MNC. I would hope that would spell the end of hte BCS, but then again, I'm an optomist.

I just have a feeling that the new #1 rated team in the nation is going to get skrewed. Sooners and Tigers in Sugar Bowl and USC is odd man out.

Bovine
Scattology
And March Madness doesn't? Please stick that age old arguement on the shelf. If you haven't been involved in the actual workings of college athletics, don't sweat it. By the way, school is out for most students for the next four weeks when the playoffs would occur.
