The metal detectors are run by government hacks who can barely speak English and think 5'4" white women should be searched as often as Arab males in their 20s.

Do you feel safer?

I'd prefer the airlines be de-socialized and the right to keep and bear arms respected on any airline that chose to pursue that competitive advantage. Of course the only reason airplanes became killing zones in the first place (eerily like the nation's public schools) is because the federalis made them unarmed zones.

Now before all you cave dweller fearing Lefties got here, we use to take such things very seriously and learned well from what the gun culture taught us: an unarmed citizenry leads to genocide.

Now who disarmed the public? The federalis.

A trillion dollar central intelligence apparatus failed to fulfill their jobs and to this day, not one firing, pension stripping or tar and feathering.

And still so many sheep argue the answer is more gubmint.

9/11 changed nothing.

I dont recall anyone zipping jetliners into 110 story skyscrapers either.

No, they only had to fight the world's greatest superpower with a standing army on their own land, Hessian mercenaries, hostile natives and a full 1/3 of the population loyal to the King.

"He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:

For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:

For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences

For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments: </i.

For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.

He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions. "

Oh, the good old days.....

Here's a success story. No terrorists checked out "bad" library books, because the FBI was keeping an eye on public libraries...or maybe they weren't..or maybe they were and said they weren't, but it doesn't matter.

What is important is that, because of the surveillance, or a lack of surveillance, or surveillance that really is, but which they say isn't surveillance...we can once again breath the sweet, weet air of liberty.

The Patriot Act is not only just a bunch of laws to prevent terrorist attacks. It also helps to prevent money-laundrying by criminal and terrorists organizations. Some of the new requirements for investor ID verification are the Duh! type and finally closed loop holes that were being exploited.

I can make all kinds of eloquent quotes that disregard today's reality.

That quote is not disregarded in "today's reality", except, of course, by those who have no idea how this government is supposed to work or how true security can be achieved.

Your are sadly mistaken and remarkably unread if you think the Founding Principles are obsolete.

I never said it was part of the Constitution but then I did not expect Lefties to really grasp their complete contempt for the culture of the forefathers.

You are probably one of those Leftwing girly men who so hysterically feared the cave dwellers that you supported a $200 billion debt financed war fought by teenage girls from West Virginia.

So, you're for taking out the metal detectors and letting anyone pack on a plane.

What is a suicide jihadist decides to start randomly shooting out windows, with a gun he was allowed to bring on the plane?

I'll sell you my anti-tiger amulet for $50. You know it works, because I haven't encountered a single tiger since I started wearing it.

The hell with VaB . . . I'll give you $100 for it!

Isn't it amazing how we allowed 19 men with box cutters to change our lives so dramatically. We've given them so much power over us.

It’ll get a bit windy in the plane before everybody else shoots him dead. Then the plane can continue on to its destination.
