What I don't understand is that they mentioned a Holstein being infected, which is a milk cow, not a beef cow.

Nothing is rational when it comes to this topic. It brings out mass hysteria. It's one of those hot button topics for whatever reason.

Yes, destroy the infected animals but cringing and fearing it will cause an epidemic of a horrible disease is nuts. One of those irrationalities is that many people who get this incredibly rare neurological disorder didn't eat meat.
