Sounds like crime in the area is going to take a sudden drop...And maybe a number of outstanding warrants cleared off the books. Be interesting to see what the records of these innocent little things is when they all finally get identified.

Six Mooresville residents reported that two men, armed with a gun, forced their way into a home and took more than $200 and a cell phone, according to a Mooresville police report. If any of the robbery victims had been armed, it is likely that only 2 kids would be dead instead of 7.

Apparently people seem to think that when the police see a speeding car they should not pursue it. What, just let it go?
Hmmm, the people that think this, often seem to be the relatives of the "victims" in the speeding accident!
Unbelievable...

Thanks for the ping .... but I said my peace yesterday.
Why should I have any mercy for criminals and their accessories to committing a felony ?

Don't you just hate when they leave out the necessary warnings?

Hurtt questioned whether Troutman police should have pursued the car. The officer could have taken down a tag number and stopped, he said. "You follow them, you don't push them to go faster," Hurtt said. "I think they were forced into a high-speed chase and they panicked. ...."Here we've got seven deaths. My only son."It's always the same.

More than a dozen parents called the Highway Patrol office in Statesville, worried that their children had been in the car. Troopers asked them to describe their kids. If the descriptions sounded accurate, they directed them to one of three hospitals where the bodies were taken. This must be that "village" that Hiltary claims is so necessary to assist in the raising of our children. I know that I would be proud to have any of these outstanding, fine citizens assist me in raising my children. (/sarcasims)
To: DCBryan1
There is nothing new to say.
The kids didn't have their seatbelts on. Nobody snatched the keys out of the ignition to force the driver to stop. A donut spare? God in Heaven, how were these kids raised? Did no one attempt to teach them a modicum of logic? Did they never have to answer for anything they did?
This nothing but suicide by cop.
All the parents who didn't know if their child was among the dead ought to take the warning--but no. They will be convinced that their community is a victim of cop brutality.
That said, the world is short seven criminals today, and the only real shame is that anyone is going to feel guilty about it who shouldn't. (And those who should, will not.)

Thanks for the ping. I applaud Mr. Eugene Arnold, the only parent with a brain. The other parents are exhibiting the kind of sense they taught their children. It's a horrible tragedy for all of them. Hopefully they'll protect the other children they may have from a similar fate.

The Dodge, which had a small spare tire on the right rear wheel, was reported stolen Monday.I try to steer clear of cars with doughnut spares going down the freeway. I believe they're rated at 35 MPH, max. <

Similar case here in Phoenix recently. Cops were chasing a vehicle at 100 mph when it got off at an exit and hit a sand truck. The car caught fire and incinerated the two passengers. The driver, however, was thrown from the vehicle and survived. When the driver woke up later that day, they had to ask him who the passengers were because they were burnt to a crisp.
The driver was a 15-year-old male. The passengers were 13- and 17-year-old females.

When will enough somebodies get up and yell STOP! Why bother when you'll just get called "RACIST!" for doing so?
To: DCBryan1
I stand by my original comments. I support the police.
To: DCBryan1
I hope the department supports this cop. I don't know what the makeup of juries looks like around there but he may be in jeopardy of losing everything he owns.

I just thought I would ping all of you to see if cop bashers and criminal coddlers such as TheCrusader was yesterday, will chime in on today's new developments.HEY
I am a well known cop basher here at FR and I am not on your list!!
Just joking the cops I bash are are the roadside search Nazis and the Swat stormtroopers, not the line cops who are the backbone of order in our society.

How much heat would the police be taking today if they had just written down the tag number as suggested, let them go, and then these little cherubs had hit another vehicle head-on and killed others? What good would taking down the tag numbers of a stolen car do? Identify the guy who reported the car stolen, is about all...right?

I'm with you on the last sentence, for sure!
Bad parents raise bad kids.Bad things happen to those insist on doing bad.Sometimes sooner rather than later.
