Drudge just added the following: [EDITOR'S NOTE: Jack Rosen, president of the American Jewish Congress, says that in the competition, said in an editorial in Monday's WALL STREET JOURNAL: "MoveOn.org informed potential ad makers that 'we're not going to post anything that would be inappropriate for television.' Two of the ads posted on the group's Web site compared Adolf Hitler to George W. Bush. One ad morphed an image of Hitler into President Bush and says that, '1945's war crimes' are '2003's foreign policy.'" Rosen says MoveOn.org is "using the memory of that genocide as a political prop. Their comparison diminishes the reality of what happened, and their actions cheapen the memory of a horrific crime. It also does a terrible disservice to this country at a perilous time, when we need to examine the dangers we face with clarity and purpose." Leadership is "about confronting threats to freedom everywhere. President Bush has shown that leadership in Iraq, and our troops have liberated a people who were oppressed by another murderous dictator. MoveOn.org compares this liberation to the Holocaust. It deploys a picture of Hitler to vilify President Bush. Comparing the commander-in-chief of a democratic nation to the murderous tyrant Hitler is not only historically specious, it is morally outrageous. Comparing an American president, any American president, to Hitler is an outrage. The MoveOn.org ad was inexcusable. Political figures such as Al Gore, who have associated themselves with MoveOn.org, have a special responsibility to condemn these ads; donors to the group such as George Soros have the same responsibility. They owe it not just to the memory of the millions who died in the Holocaust. They owe it also as a simple matter of decency."]

This is fabulous. These Bush haters only hurt their own cause with this stuff. They're not winning the hearts and/or minds of the electorate by comparing Bush to Hitler. They only capitalize on hatred, and in fact become what they accuse others of being.

Rove is about to make the election a vote on whether Bush is a Nazi or not.

Middle of the road Americans will not fall for it.

I certainly hope that no one questions their patriotism because of this.

Rove is about to make the election a vote on whether Bush is a Nazi or not.

Probably right. Of course, it'll be more subtle than that, but the strategy for defeating Dean (or any Democrat, for that matter) will be to keep him spun up, so that Bush can bash him down simply by going around "looking presidential."

Funny how Moveon .org can label Bush Hitler, but was it not this same group that wanted us to forgive the transgressions of Bill Clinton, the same Bill Clinton that stood by as nation full of people were nearly wiped off the earth. Now who is really the Hitler?

LET'S LOOK IN THE MIRROR: How can ANYONE on this site be outraged over the Democrats' contemptible suggestion that any Republican is like or in any way similar to a Nazi -- when we have had posts (including one a day or two ago) comparing the Democrats to Nazis? Ann Coulter's good book dealt with this a year ago but what happens is that when we take them to task on it we do the SAME THING. Unless both sides stop acting like mindless school kids hurling the worst names they can think of it is going to continue -- and BOTH SIDES look like hypocrites for getting all upset when they others indulge in the same bratty behavior (just like kids) that other side is doing. Welcome to politics in the 21st century. This is how it operates...so now it's time for our side to do a commercial comparing a Demcrat to Hitler, Stalin, etc. or Sadaam Hussein. THE LOSER? Ideas. Both parties are into slash and burn and ideas are lost in the process.

Yes, we do. Those images were done out of entertainment and not meant to sway voters to see our viewpoint. Was it decent and honorable? No. It also wasnt a paid for ad by some billionaire.

The nice thing here is that we're only three years into Bush's eight, and they're already pretty comfortable in calling him Hitler. It's not like they can dig any deeper than that.

'Worse than Hitler' perhaps, but that sounds like so much shrill hyperoble. They don't really have any ammo past that. They could always move on to famous Communist leaders with more blood on their hands than Hitler, but for some reason I don't see that happening.

This sort of thing is pretty much S.O.P. for the Democrats.

I watched about 50%+ of "The Truth Uncovered" before I walked out.

Its nothing more than soundbytes of various liberal players ranging from Scott Ritter to Ambassador Wilson, to liberal professors, etc. all mouthing off about WMD not being in Iraq.

The funniest part of the video was some retired CIA official wondering why we acted as we did when we knew that Sadamm's son had admitted that he "oversaw the destruction of the WMD back in the early 90's"

The Democrats choose to ignore the socialist root of Nazism, the best retort that you can give a lefty who accuses Bush of being Hitlerian is to laugh at them and tell them that NAZI stood for the National Socialist Party. My husband did this with his sister and the look of confusion on her face was priceless.

Except for one crucial fact - the policies of today's DemocRAT party are FAR closer to the Socialist "ideals" of Hitler and his 3rd Reich than have any US administration since WWII. Clinton embodied this ideology.

Also, were those items you mentioned personal graphics for posting here on FR, or were they streaming movies to be streamed all over the internet?

The left is already talking about "What if" WMDs are found.

Here is a reply to the question of WMD I pulled off a liberal message board:

"Re: WMD, If they are eventually found, what will be the significance? We know where he got them. He got them from us, back when he was our buddy fighting Iran. And hell, why not? We sold him all kinds of expensive weaponry - made lots of money. We even armed Iran as well. Money to be made there too. The intention must have been the obliteration of both countries. It worked.

We knew he had them when he was gassing the kurds. That was just fine. In fact, the US government just loved Saddam until he stepped over the line in Kuwait and pissed off our even closer friends, the Saudi Royal family.

It's the oil stupid! It's all about the oil! Saddam was never a threat to the U.S. Anyone with any sense knows this. It is so simple. It amazes me how easy it was to confuse the american public. If one lame reason for war doesn't convice, just throw out a myriad of even lamer reasons. A little doublespeak, (operation iraqi freedom) a few simplistic slogans,(axis of evil, enemies of freedom) and the american people just don't know what to think.

What will it take to end this complacency and self-imposed ignorance? ?

One problem: MoveOn.org has the money of Soros and Hollywood stars and the recent history of staging giant protest marches that got network TV coverage. For this organization to equate (not compare) Bush to Hitler in such a public way after priming the angry Left with expensive propoganda really is gutter politics at anew level. Hardly equates with a cartoon posted 7 years ago on FR and seen by a thousand people.

Bush is turning out to far more of "a socialist" in his domestic policy than Clinton ever was. Clinton never did anything (though he tried in his first term) to rival the 400 billion dollar big government Medicare bill signed by Bush. That was socialism in spades.

By the way, I found the old Freeper threads to be rather amusing pictures, showing Clinton with a Hitler mustache next to Goehring, etc. Oh...let's not forget all those "Hitlery" jokes. These weren't ads in a technical sense but they were certainly never pulled. I am not complaining mind you. It seems rather strange for the same freepers who smiled (like me) at these threads to now complain when someone engages in tit for tat.

Free Republic used to have a rather "dangerous" sense of humor in those days. Now....it too often feels like reading sanitized publicity releases from the RNC.

Which, of course, is why the two situations are different. Yes, there are the mental midgets around here who compared Clinton with Hitler, spent good time creating stupid electronic finger paintings and spewed it all over (those threads still embarass me to this day), and call Hillary Clinton "Hitlery". There were also those of us who pointed out this was stupid hyperbole and gained nothing. But these were all individual opinions, which is, of course, what this site is all about.

The Moveon.org situation is quite different. They solicited ads for the express purpose of broadcasting them and then consciously chose those Bush=Hitler ads. Thus giving their support and approval to the message.

The commie coward bitches at MoveOn.org have no shame. If they equate President Bush with Hitler, they are either totally ignorant of history, or they are so fueled by hate and impotent rage they have are completely delusional. The latter is more likely. Their comparison outrages and angers me, but also amuses me on some level because it shows how truly desperate and ineffective the communist left has become. Their antics may cheer the far left of their party, but will only alienate middle America who views Bush as an effective and scrupulous leader.
