"you have to pull the lever for the lesser of two evils. "Sorry, no I don't. I'm not into voting for candidates whose position is vote for me, the other guy is worse. I wish Buchanan was running again. He was right that our trade policies cost American jobs and foreign entanglements will bring war to our shores.

The Republic is dead. We are now entering the American Empire period. Get used to it.

"
So you're basically giving Gumby II free license to screw the conservative principles he supposedly holds dear?"
You should have read GWB's record as govenor of Texas.
Perhaps you and others, who expected "Atilla the Hun" wouldn't be so "shocked and awed".
It probably has something to do with doing what he sees is best for all the people.
There are alternatives. Pick one.

I was (pleasantly) SHOCKED to hear that Feinstein is AGAINST the immigration proposal. A pig just flew past my window....

Republican conservatives = Democratic blacksThe more things change, the more they stay the same - or something like that. Even Pat Buchanan back when he was a Nixon speechwriter in 1968 was complaining that Nixon said not to worry about the conservative vote. "They'll vote for us because they haven't got anyone else to vote for."

I am amazed at the number of people who totally miss out on the strategy being used here by the President. Sure he has increased spending, but at the same time, he has successfully stripped the RATS of their traditional campaign issues.
Think about incrementalism. We didn't get in this Socialist-inspired mess over night. The RATS did it incrementally. To correct this, we have to do it in increments and if we use the RATS own meat axe to do it, so be it. Once the RATS are out of power...and I mean without a filibuster capability, then we can finish the job.

What Andy doesnt understand is that President Bush if elected and given the Senators he needs to work with will CHANGE!
It's a big risk on the Senator(s) part but worth it.
How do you know he will change? I am increasingly having doubts.

Because look at what came out of the House VS what got worked on in the Senate.
One thing President Bush can not be accused of is not working on, as Clinton used to say, the Peoples Business.
And I guess I'm a neocon too, because I think that bankrupting the treasury will lead to less social programs and finally the fix of Social Security next year if all things work out all right.
And I also think that more tax cuts are coming in that he will put everything in place next year and remove them from being phased out too.

the truth of the matter is when election day(s) come and go you have to pull the lever for the lesser of two evils. No I don't. Where does the Constitution say that? I don't vote for evil, lesser or not. If you do, you're saying that evil is OK, just fine with you.
And you'll get more of it.
I hate Big Stupid Republican Government as much as any other form of Big Stupid Government.

If we can move both houses of Congress to the right Bush doesn't have to change. That's what the checks and balances are all about.

Andy's 3-Strike list is right-on! Besides President Bush's strong stand on terrorism and his domestic tax cut, where's the conservatism? Lastest disappointment: "mending fences with Canada and Mexico" Huh? We're mending fenses with THEM? Why is President Bush constantly putting the U.S. over a chair? We're always cow-towing the the EU, Mexico and Canada. I just don't get it!
