Isolationism has never worked as long as history has been recorded

As far as we know.

But made easier by their friendly sychophants, busily pushing those abuse buttons, ever vigilant that no one posts the wrong 'damn' word.. Gotta love that hypocrisy.

I have a simple solution for you...don't post here if you don't like the rules. Or go spend the hundreds and thousands of dollars needed and create your own and you can make all the rules you want.

And your posts wouldn't be pulled if you didn't openly break the rules. You can whine about sycophants all you want but the moderators do their jobs themselves and only investigate the abuse button posts to see what was posted and act appropriately. I you think all you have to do is complain via an abuse and have a post removed then you are wrong.

An attempt at isolationism on the part of the United States can only be a success or a failure, depending on the idiocy of those nation states around us.

The seminar callers on in full force on C-SPAN, even the "Support Pres. Bush" line gets whiners lying about everything Bush has done.

Much like people in this thread who can't comprehend English.

Tell me about it. In many cases the abuse button is the last resort for those who can't respond to challenges and hope to find a sympathetic monitor.

But then... some posts are just over the top and deserve to be blasted into cyberspace.

"Are you referring to Kennedy?"
Yes, I am.

OK. Can't completely tell from one photograph but yes, he does show some signs of long term alcohol abuse but a closer look would be needed for signs of liver compromise. No surprises there. Of course, the way his head was shaking tonight, I wondered if there might be other problems.

"IMHO Pat Buchanan is an enemy of what this country stands for."

Thank you for that rant! I'm so flabbergasted by those who still follow the populist politics of Patsy economics. They make no sense, but they can do an internet dance similar to Dean's recitation of the states.

Perhaps we can look at the H1-B issue from the hypothetical of a guy who bought a toney ridiculously expensive Silicon Valley lakeside house, and bragged on FR about owning a classic Corvette and racing a 28 foot cigarette boat. Perhaps it was a guy who earned and enjoyed a seven figure net worth of dotcom wealth (bragged about on FR), retired before the age of 50 (bragged about on FR) to be a bon vivant millionaire, race cigarette speedboats and scoot around in Vettes ... OOOPS ... KERPLUNK! The SV bubble burst, the seven figures disintegrated, now he needs to unretire and nobody seems to be hiring his overpaid, bad attitude ass .... and it's those damn H1B Indian programmers, and George W. Bush, that are his large problem.

Nobody I know, this is a hypothetical. If I did know someone like this, I wouldn't have much sympathy for him. A guy with that skillset who can amass that level of success before 50 can do it after 50, if his attitude and humility are in check. Wouldn't ya think?

I've never, in my six years here, seen such a disgraceful selfish campaign like a relatively small number of very very profligate malcontent Anti-Bush Freepers are waging right now. Ugly, ugly sentiments being amplified and enabled thread after thread. They are on a mission to destroy this forum, because they HATE George W. Bush as much as the DUmmies do.

Ever read your own posts?

Anyway, legalizaing Illegals is Amnesty for Illegals.

Most people understand this, and giving Illegals blue cards before green cards before citizenship is just the lipstick on the pig.

As demonstrated over the last few weeks ... I'm not pleased nor particularly compliant in their sabotage.

It's not sabotage, Arne. Bush made a bad, unpopular proposal.

He's still popular, but is taking a hit over his Amnesty, because people don't like it. Americans don't like it, Republicans don't like it, and active Freepers don't like it.

You're on the wrong side of this, and I imagine that explains why you're spinning tales of 60,000 sleeper accounts on FR.

Wait until he gets about a 10 - 12% jump in the polls. This was a great speech which outlined the vision for this country. He asserted himself as a great war time leader with a fairly moderate to conservative domestic agenda which is a winning combination for elections. It appeals to most mainstream Americans but will alienate the extremists on both sides of the political spectrum. I am hoping the Dims get thrashed in the upcoming elections like the Labor party is Israel got spanked by the Likud party. The Rats behavior in the chamber may piss off a lot of folks just like the Wellstone memorial service did in 2002. Tasteless acts in politics seem to cost the left votes.

Perhaps military service or government service in some way as a prerequisite to exercising the vote would result in a better informed electorate. Read Heinlein's "Starship Troopers."

Read it - and all of Heinlein's books. Reread DuBois' lecture on how that system came about. It was not successful for a better informed electorate.

C_Span has become a joke, I consider it the preferred place for the uninformed, intellectually challenged and unemployed to vent their incomprehensible compilation of words found in a Webster's Dictionary in a feeble attempt to vent their frustrations over why the Government hasn't fulfilled their every wish and desire and served on a silver platter because they're too damn lazy to live the American dream

I don't get what is going on with FR as of late. I didn't find the President's speech up to par. I thought it was below average and I have no idea what the hell steroid use and the state of the union have in common...total pointless crap.

Bush skipped the big issues with me tonight...especially what his plan is for immigration. Yeah, I caught what he said about not granting amnesty and all of that but he stayed away from the real issues of border safety and control and what we are going to do about it. Nothing about Osama bin-Laden at all. His name was not even mentioned. WTF? Nothing about the road map and the corruption of Syria and where America will stand there. Nothing on how he plans on getting more jobs in this country and not out of this country. Nothing on when he plans on stoping spending like a madman.

So many other issues he stayed away from.

I got so much heat in here tonight because I said the speech was horrible. Well....it was. It was filled with a lot of rhetoric and old news. Hell, we didn't even get a speech on space with the Moon and Mars where he is planning on billions and billions to be spent.

I worked damn hard to get this man elected for 2 yrs. Day and Night for W. Raised money, walked streets of Palm Beach, stood in pouring rain outside the recount, marched and fought Dem's on street corners for months and months. Dedicated road trips and other convoys to see him.

He has lamed out on me as a Conservative Republican. Bush is doing an EXCELLENT job as President for the War. The stock market is on the rise and has been but notice the one huge key in all of this??!?!? HE DID NOT MENTION THAT U.S. DOLLAR HAS SUNK TO SHIT!

CFR was another letdown.

I just get insulted for being a true conservative and then have people on this board tell me to get a life and go to DU and go to hell and all of that other crap. Why? Because I said a Bush speech sucked? C'mon people. We are not sheep here. Bush had better become a Conservative real soon or my voter I.D. will stay in my wallet this November.

Sorry Jim. You know I support FR 100% and I love this place for the most part...but this place is running mad with Bush Blindness. It's like Conservatives have little to no respect or voice on this site anymore and that is sad. I want to watch the DNC go down just as much as the next guy. But to take the heat like I have just over saying a SOTU speech was horrible, is just plain bullying.
