Someone need to tell bush and all the other drunken republican sailors in washington that we have a federal deficit, a huge federal deficit, and that we cant afford to give away money that we dont have, esp to non-american citizens.
To: KantianBurke
President Bush (news - web sites) may seek an additional $40 billion or more for military operations in Iraq (news - web sites) and Afghanistan (news - web sites) next year -- on top of the $400-billion military budget he will send to Congress next month, congressional sources and budget analysts said on Wednesday.
Then, again...he may not...this is just speculation.

Good Grief! Enough already!
I...am ... speechless...
Shouldn't the people who told us about rose petals and liberation at the very least lose their JOBS?!?!
We all know their names.

Just like Ridge's little "suggestion" about legal status during his town hall meeting?

Please tell the Prez that there is nothing left in my wallet after last night's State of the Union.

That was from a named official during a speech...not unknown sources for a piece of pure speculation....
To: Brian Mosely
Very well. How's about someone from the Administration comment on this then? A nice refutation perhaps? No? Bush's silence would thus say quite a bit more than however high the volume of these unamed sources are.

Give a break! Were you born yesterday?!
The media lies, lies, lies. Your "named official" could have have been an official from DNC headquarters.
To: KantianBurke
Yahoo uses Reuters as as source, simple fiction.

Please tell the Prez that there is nothing left in my wallet after last night's State of the Union. Don't worry, through the magic of central banking the Feds will be happy to spend money you haven't earned yet.

Where's your sense of adventure? I say we keep spending and see what happens. By 2008 it won't matter if Hitlery is elected, the nation will be too broke to afford police service much less Hillary Care.

Running a huge military operation like we have in Iraq is not cheap.
To: Prodigal Son
Spending all this cash isn't "cheap" either thanks in part to interest on the debt.

And?
The operation in Iraq is not cheap.
That's all I said.
To: AdamSelene235
Where's your sense of adventure? I say we keep spending and see what happens. What will happen is the same thing that has happened without exception in the past: the collapse of the currency and the issuance of a new one, and the repudiation of the national debt.
