Russia's Population To Decline By 900,00 PER YEAR. (This is the solution to the immigration mess!)

What we have here is the basic rule of supply and demand. Russia needs immigrants to bolster their population. America has 10-12 million illegal immigrants, with no way (or place) to deport them to.

At the same time, Russia has something we need: Oil. All that's left is the negotiations on transportation and the formula for the trade. Of course, this is the first time and place that this idea has been put forward, and it makes way too much sense. But I thought that just maybe this idea should see the light of day.

This would give President Bush his approval for 'guest workers'. He didn't say WHERE they would be guests, or workers. Want to see the immigration flood stop in a heartbeat? Just fill a couple of C-17s with illegals, and fly them to Siberia. Once word got out, the Border Patrol would feel like the Maytag man.

Odd, no mention that about 70 percent (since 1994) of all pregnancies in Russia end in abortion. And nothing about the lasting health effects an abortion can have on a woman's body, resulting in one in five Russian couples being infertile.

You're quite correct about the abortions over there. In fact, abortion is the standard form of birth control in Russia, with women averaging 5 abortions in their lifetime.

That's horrible.

Give them a good dose of Mexican Catholics - the birthrate would grow quickly. (Kinda like planting kudzu over there.) Although I can't quite imagine Spanish with a Russian accent.

Actually it will likely be 1.75 million live births in 2003 - and it could be over 2.15 million in 2004 due to sharp restrictions on abortion in Russia.

Robert Heinlen, the Sci-Fi author, published an article many years ago that stated that the Russian population had been steadily shrinking since the end of WWII, but that the commies were lying to cover it up. He based his article on information gather during an extended visit - talking to people about how many relatives they had, etc. Came to the conclusion that the death rate was outpacing the birth rate.

Matbe they're finally just getting around to owning up.

Yes very odd since abortion after 12 week is illegal and abortion in general before 12 week down 75% from 10 years earlier...or that most families having much more kids or that Russian birthrates go from 1.2 to 1.7 of last year and this year might be 1.9 or 2.0....at growth rate, in 2 or 3 years it is more like 2.4 or higher.

Thank you for stereo type...no Russian not much more drunk then Americans...I see how Americans drink, especially children of 18 or so. As for abortion, it is illegal after 12 weeks, not like US where day of birth can still have abortion. Also, Russian birth rate up from 1.2 to about 1.9 and still grow yearly.
