I do not see that Cheney is hurting the President.

Isn't it more important to check a persons RECORD and not the Rhetoric? I vote based on Record. It's the only thing that matters.... Rhetoric or smooth talking aren't worth a doo drop... it's how one Votes, what one Signs, what a man DOES!!!! And this president stands beside the citizens of this country and does his best to protect us.... which, IMO, is the most important job of a President. And he's an honest, decent man.

Then why grant an interview to liberal NBC in the first place?

They got the ratings, the bucks, and the clout for that seemingly information-less interview.

I guess I don't get what the point was. We don't know any more than we did before the interview. Bush didn't project the best image. I mean, who got the best end of that deal?

NBC?

I honestly believe Bush made the best call with the info he had, but I am far less confident on the legitimacy of the intel. Cheney/Libby got!

I see you say later that you change your criteria after I point out that, contrary to your "spider hole" assertion, VP Cheney has been out making speeches, that what yo meant is you want him to answer questions. Well, he does that, too.

But I would like to know what you are talking about when you say the above about Cheney/Libby (alarm bells going off on where you're coming from with that little reference) and the intel you purport they received.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm one woman who personally prefers shorter men over taller ones. Easier to kiss without dangling from his shoulders. But I'm not quite 5'2 so that affects my opinion. ;o)

President Bush stands tall where it counts: character, honesty, integrity, and leadership.

wow. sometimes my country scares me.

here we have the POTUS in time of war in the oval office talking. russert pauses the president-for what? a commercial for an impotence drug.

" suttered"

I think you stuttered when typing. The president is not a stutterer. He does not speak without saying "uh" but that Stu is not stuttering.

I'm not sure. But you do ask a good question... a very good question. I doubt the interview changed any minds. What you think?

Well all I see are the Rats trolling around for something but nothing sticks. I really do not get your worries. I think you are listening too much to mainstream media. He gives plenty of speeches, he just does not rise to every attempt to destroy him. With all respect, I do not see what you are talking about.

"It would be great if true conservatives could have rational discourse without using word like "RAT" "Democraps", etc. It really does help perpetuate the stereotype that many Republicans are created from inferior intellectual stock."

Ummm....Stu...heat to break it to you buddy...w\but calling them Rats...is mild and actually mocking their paranoia...have you seen what they describe us as on DU or on any "mainstream" media show? Remember Algore and the "extra chromosome" comment? And the laughter that crak drew from his audience? And THESE are the people who think they are divinely smarter than the rest of us???

OK, shall we strike the "Machiavellian ploy" discriptor?

This is clear: Bush is either speaking truthfully about his plan or he is not.

I believe him to be an honest man speaking what he believes. Now that the "meeting" is open for discussion, as you say, perhaps he will listen to his board members.

Enough of Bush, how do you feel about the border/immigrant issues and their effects on America decades from now?

I think the hounds are starting to be released today. I think the dems made a bad move by forcing the president's hand early now. With Kerry sewing up the nomination, he now got to survive 7-9 months of constant bombarding of ads and the negative press he will eventually get. I have said it once before everyone in the country knows all they ever wanted to know about pres Bush. When they start hearing more and more about Kerry's past and current views, it may well be a blowout by the President.

"Fiscal sustainability should be a good issue for conservatives if they're really interested in reducing the power and cost of federal government policies and programs."

These are things a President can do in his second term. He'll tackle the tough sells then.

LOL. You know I didn't think of it that way. That's rather interesting... funny perhaps... would have been funnier if the commercial had used Dole for Viagra. LOL

I hope you are right, but I study the numbers, and I fear things are not changing fast enough for this November's election.

I guess the positive thing here is that some of these women will definitely not find Kerry as "cute." I just hope they will not find his height compensating for his "un-cuteness," shall we say? I hope he will look like a lurch when standing next to Bush like people here have suggested.

Oh, of course state workers are needed. I teach at a University (Auburn) so it is part of the state of Alabama, makes me a sort of state worker (though I paid from tuitions, mostly). Down here, many of the state workers are fairly conservative, too.

I agree. The commercials were simply embrassing.

We have the President of the USA on TV for an hour, and they pause to show flying dogs doing karate on a bobcat. Then, we get a 1 minute instructional on how to get your weenie hard by taking a pill

Then we cut back to the President.

Capitalism is great, but you'd think that sometimes they could suspend the more follyfull aspects of it when interviewing the freaking president.

And those companies paid a fortune to have the Ads running on the back of the President ... and he allows it????

Surely he could have set a criterea of no-ads, and any network still would have jumped on it.

Just .... embarrassing.

If we got nothing else from the interview, we now know how to get an easy boner.

Oy.
