If it was all about popular vote, Pres Bush would have campaigned hard in TX, OK, KS to bring out all the Republican voters.

IMO, Pres Bush did win the popular vote. IMO and of others, there was an awful lot of fraud going on in 2000. The Gore campaign used computer models of states that were close call and stuffed the ballots. As you can see, we lost most of the tossup states. In Florida, the Rats were ticked off because no matter what they did, fraudulently, they still couldn't pull it off. Well, I better stop talking about a subject that gets my ire up. LOL :-)

The soft spoke trial lawyer Johnny Edwards out right admitted that he voted for the WAR based upon the intel he was shown but he didn't know all the INTEL. President Bush had more INTEL.

President Bush is hiding "INTEL" from us and mislead us to vote for a "BAD" war.

Were there any light moments in this interview?

Yes............. near the end, the ever-obnoxious Russert was telling G. W. that his poll numbers were bad, and that he was as unpolular in Europe as Reagan. Bush shot back firmly and quickly with a smile on his face, "At least I'm in good company."

I remember when 41 took Rather apart in the '88 interview. I'd like to see a repeat.

but most people with an IQ in excess of 100 probably feels deep down that it was not one of the better moments in this presidency.

I think the President did more than hold his own in Russert's "drip torture" interview. (My IQ exceeds 100)

For example:

Cheney, Rumsfeld defend Bush doctrine of pre-emptive strikes

Washington, February 8

Excerpt:

Two senior leaders of the Bush Administration, Vice President Dick Cheney and Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, have defended the "Bush Doctrine" of pre-emptive strikes and punishing not only terrorists but those who harbour them.

Rumsfeld, speaking in Munich, said the US has to strike first when there is danger of potential use of a biological agent or other weapons that could cause thousands of deaths.

Cheney, addressing a National Republican Congressional Committee meeting in Illinois on Saturday, said, "In the war on terror, we have only one option: We must take the fight to the enemy."

"Terrorists continue to plot against America and the civilised world. We see them for what they are: killers who will not be stopped by negotiations or treaties, by appeals to reason, or by the least hint of conscience," he said.

He sounds like my neighbors here and in Texas which appeals to us "uneducated folks with IQ's less than 100!" (sarcasm)

Never quite thought of that way. But I bet those "uneducated" folks have a higher overall IQ than Goron... and they certainly love this country and do what they can to protect it (and her citizens) than those educated Eastern snobs who only care about their own self-aggrandizement.

Guess you would rather have a President that is a very good speaker that spins and lies while fluently speaking.

Can you point out where I said that?

If i'm not a fast runner, I do not enter foot races. If I am not a good unscripted speaker, I don't do interviews that I don't have to do.

I'm not sure why he did this one. I think it helped nobody, including himself.

I though Pres Bush did a very good job during the interview of getting his message across and making Russert look like the Clinton DemocRAT shill that he is.

It would be great if true conservatives could have rational discourse without using word like "RAT" "Democraps", etc. It really does help perpetuate the stereotype that many Republicans are created from inferior intellectual stock. The sandbox insults are something that we would expect from 5 year olds, not grown adults with the power to vote.

I feel that he not only had to do this interview to get his message out but that he did a very good job of doing just that. You obviously don't understand the way we talk in Middle America but that is also why we relate to this President!

Raise your standards. You deserve it. If you don't believe me, check your paystub and compare the 'gross' with the 'net'. Even with Bush, it's still quite an astounding amount.

Guess that is difficult for people from the East Coast to understand. He sounds like my neighbors here and in Texas which appeals to us "uneducated folks with IQ's less than 100!" (sarcasm)

Okay, so we know which group of voters he has locked up. I'm not sure if you folks will be enough.

Yes on #988. Aren't we fortunate that we have men of fortitude serving us at this time? I cringe when I think that Goron could have been President.
