U.S. soccer team to play for Olympic spot in Guadalajara
Things could get ugly in Guadalajara tomorrow when the U.S. soccer team plays Mexico for Olympic qualification.
Last Thursday, when the U.S. played Canada in a qualifying round in Zapopan before 1,500 Mexicans, the crowd hooted "The Star-Spangled Banner," it booed U.S. goals. And it chanted "Osama! Osama! Osama" as the American players left the field with a 2-0 victory.
Tomorrow, 60,000 fans are expected to watch the game that will determine which team goes to Athens.
The Mexicans are hoping for revenge. The U.S. team knocked Mexico out of the World Cup in 2002.
The Guadalajara police are already mobilizing to control highly charged soccer fans and to protect U.S. team players in case things get out of hand.

But don't you know that these soccer fans represent every MexicanYou might be right on this --- I think the soccer fans are more often from the class of Mexicans who would be in big trouble if we stopped massive immigration from Mexico --- the less privileged in Mexico seem to have less time for soccer and seem to like baseball more as a sport. If the Revolution breaks out it would be these people who would scream for our help to stop the peasants from coming after them.

That works for me, let's see how fast they can swim. Post signs along the border fence. If you get past the electric parts (no, we won't tell you which parts are active), then you get to swim through the alligators. If you get through them, worry about the indiscriminately scattered antipersonnel mines through our new "no man's land".
Damn, this would be a cool Nintendo game!

Do any Americans do that? Is America in your personal top 5? As a matter of fact ... no, they don't.
I live in Los Angeles. A place where 40% of the drivers are unlicensed and uninsured, not to mention, not here legally (three crimes right there, no?).
I make a phone call to a service agency, it says "Press 1 for English" and if I don't press 1, it continues in Spanish as the default. I've been in line behind people speaking Spanish, with five kids in tow speaking only spanish, using food stamps in excess of my entire monthly grocery bill. I have personally witnessed my property being stolen, and the side of my house being vandalized, by people coordinating these activites completely in Spanish. And worse.
I consider all of the above patently UnAmerican.
And if 90% of the crime in my neighborhood was committed by Scottish People, I just might call for tighter restrictions on Scottish Immigration. But .... they aren't scottish. And you know they aren't.
The emporer has no clothes.

These folks actually had full size Mexican flags on the hoods of their Impalas. What they did was tuck both ends under, then slam the hood. That is so not cool.
As long as drunken Scottish soccer fans aren't living here while they talk trash, I don't care. They do it on American soil and there just might be a problem.

And immediately after 9-11, when other folks began attaching American flags to their antennas ... our fine "guest workers" around here did the same. Except that they made absolutely sure to put a much larger (about 4x larger) Mexican flag above the American one.
I never did figure out what the symbolism of that was. I still don't.

That should be Columbus, NM, 1916 (March 9)--19 Americans killed on American soil by Pancho Villa.
Earlier Villa had murdered 16 Americans he had removed from a train in Mexico; there was also a later raid on Glen Springs, Texas, during which 3 Americans were killed.

The biggest reason why Mexico can't field a quality Olympic team is that any Mexican who can run, jump or swim is already in the United States.

...then you get to swim through the alligators. Reality already got in front of that idea. No alligators, but the illegals coming through along the San Pedro River now have at least one large mountain lion to worry about. His or her tracks were first spotted last week and are bigger than my outstretched hand.
A few months back I found a bed down site in Hunter Canyon that had been hastily abandoned; all bags and backpacks had simply been dropped. Big kitty cat foot prints all over the place.
Those coming through the Huachuca Mountains have attracted the attentions of a few black bears who have taken to scavenging their food trash and discarded backpacks. It won't take long for them to lose all fear and start scavenging people.

Do you support a ban on the use of foreign languages in America? It sounds like it.
I have personally witnessed my property being stolen, and the side of my house being vandalized, by people coordinating these activites completely in Spanish. And worse.
I've had property stolen by people who speak Spanish as well as by people who speak English. I even heard of a guy who raped a little kid one time who spoke English, but this had to have been an extreme rarity.

Everything you have said has been said, verbatim, by people of the dominant culture throughout the history of time, including the history of America. I mean, who wanted those dirty, illiterate, AntiChrist-worshipping European Catholics here? Surely you would have supported banning all those cretans from coming to work in America as well, right?

These idiots had numbers of their own die in 9-11 and probably had some soldiers die fighting this war in the Middle East.

Seems the conversation goes like this:
Mexicans: Osama! Osama!
Bush: Welcome to America!
And I do support Bush. I just wish he realised the war on terror needs to be waged at home as well: against those who break America's immigration laws, take American jobs and subvert American culture. America owes these people nothing, but it's as though no expense is too great to go on earning their ingratitude.

You need to add Greece to your list of America's enemies. Have you forgotten the soccer match beween the Greek team and Scotland just after the 9/11 attacks?
" ATHENS, Greece (AP) Fans of the Greek soccer club AEK Athens tried to burn the American flag before the team's match against Scotland club Hibernian, and booed during a moment of silence for the victims of the terrorist attacks in the United States. "What went on in Athens disgusted me," Hibernian coach Alex McLeish said Saturday upon returning to Scotland. "With what happened last week, innocent people of all nationalities in America, anyone would show respect."

Australian has had illegals coming in by boat into their Northern Territory. I had heard that the government sent thousands of video tapes into Asia with a warning that if you get by the man-eating sharks off our shores, there was man-eating crocs at the beach. And if you get into the interior, poisonous snakes were a plenty. Then, when your caught, we'll put you in a detention camp out in the middle of the desert.
To bad our politicaians are willing to pull out all the stops to halt the invasion of our country.

They might not in your neighborhood, but PLENTY of Americans fit your descriptions. You seem to be under some illusion that Americans don't commit crimes and aren't capable of thoroughly sucking as human beings. Agreed. But why move to another country to do it? Why not be a sucky human being in one's own country? Why should we expect the citizens of another country to accept us with open arms?
I mean, if I illegally entered Japan, refused to learn a word of Japanese, formed an American gang that vandalized the homes of Japanese citizens, and broke nearly every Japanese law I encountered - I would expect some animosity from the citizens of Japan.
Call me crazy, but there is something about going out of your way to cross national borders to be a sucky human being that makes it that much less palatable.
Do you support a ban on the use of foreign languages in America? It sounds like it.
No, but I am for making English the official language of the United States, and requiring basic English competency as a condition of citizenship or long-term residence.
I've had property stolen by people who speak Spanish as well as by people who speak English. I even heard of a guy who raped a little kid one time who spoke English, but this had to have been an extreme rarity.
Hey, we have our own criminals. That's the point. We don't need the rest of the world's.
Surely you would have supported banning all those cretans from coming to work in America as well, right?
We have immigration laws. Obey them, or be deported. And when you get here, make an effort to learn the language and behave yourself.
It's really just that simple.
It's also common sense.
To: Stu Cohen

Right. The first duty of any government is to the people living there. Do US citizens want current levels of migration? You can check any poll and see for yourself what the overwhelming majority think. A shame no elected politician is willing to do the same.

Seriously, that is an ugly way to go. Just one of the fringe benefits of our border policy. This one is an equal opportunity danger.
If Yogi or Snagglepuss develop a palate for man-flesh, the most likely first victims will be illegals -- probably women or children. This also makes things a lot more dangerous for legitimate hikers and campers here; the critters are not going to ask about nationality first.
It also adds a significant hazard for us hooligans who stalk aliens.

The U.S National Junior Hockey team was down 3-1 to the Canadian Juniors in Helsinki last Xmas and was being badly outplayed. They came out in the third period and scored 4 straight goals eking out a stunning victory to claim the gold medal.I suspect Mexico is in big trouble, the 1980 Miracle On Ice was no fluke.

They are rude, they push and shove, they cut in lines, they sneer and condescend.
I cannot imagine choosing to enter another country, legally or illegally, of my own free will, nobody holding a gun to my head...and then, instead of finding out what the preferences of my new neighbors are in order to avoid offending them, being unspeakably horrid and rude to them! What kind of mind set would justify such behavior? We're nice enough (or stupid enough) to let them in, and they show us nothing but contempt. Obviously far too many of today's immigrants hate America and its citizens, and are just using us for jobs or welfare. Why do we need these people, legal or illegal? Why are we letting them all in? Why are we doing this to ourselves?
