Quit your day job

Serioulsy though, I use Latest Articles under Forum/Topics on the FR home page. Then bump (and bookmark) threads you want read later.

Set your pagination to 250....

I do the opposite: set it to 20 so I can hit shift-Refresh without having to suck down 250 posts. Figure I'm saving myself and FR bandwidth.

Another tactic I use is to do a check everyso often on the latest article page and then open up a new tab (in Opera or Mozilla, IE doesn't have this ability) with each article I'm interested in. So I can browse at my leisure.

I also try and put in appropriate keywords for all the stories I find interesting so that I can find them later on.

One thing I've found helpful: If you have some particular subject or issue that really interests you, read threads on those topics to see if anyone posting there is using a "ping" list. Post a reply to them asking that they add you to their ping list. That way you will always find threads about your topics of interest in your "my comments" section.

Also, frequent checking in the "breaking news" section of the sidebar will help you make sure you don't miss any major breaking news stories.

LOL! Listen to Judith Anne - go back before it's too late!

What you can do that helps is to open multiple browser windows. And ditto on the caffeine.

1.Get on several people ping lists to information you are interested in.

2.Peruse the intro to the thread, and just read the one you are REALLY interested in.

3.Use the search for areas you really want to know more about.

4. Use side bars on opening page. (Breaking news etc) then subscribe to that areas if it "floats your boat"

Try tabbed browsing, for example with the Mozilla Firefox 0.8 browser. You can keep lots of pages open in one window, so it doesn't crowd your taskbar.

The best thing I learned is to open a separate browser window with the following url. http://mywebpage.netscape.com/Wootsey/freepertips.htm. It has everything you need to post links, photos, special fonts, etc. And it's real easy.

I believe it was Heraclitus who first observed this phenomenon.

Relax - just go with the flow.

It's like being in a crowded party. Eventually you will wind up with people who interest you. If you try to follow everything, you'll wind up drooling in the corner.

Don't read everything.

You should scan the first paragraph of any new article posted to see if you might find anything interesting there, or if you might want to comment on that subject.

Then move on.

Only God knows what's going on in the whole world. We humans have to concentrate on a few items.
