I didn't mean to come across harsh. Please forgive me.

Where you were born, does not disqualify you from becoming president if one of your parents is an American. Now that you've learned that you can become president, go ahead with your plans. If you run as a conservative, I'll vote for you (if you promise small government and to follow the constitution of the United States).

I'm sending you some information through your freepmail.

Some folks will never forgive Schwarzenegger for winning the recall.

Some will always be grateful he's not Davis.
Some will always be hateful he's not McClintock.

Seeing as he wants to issue drivers' licenses to illegals, it looks like the joke is on you. At least I knew better. You still haven't figured it out.

Questions for the citizenship legal experts:

a) If a US citizen working for the US government, or just visiting, in another country gives birth while there, is the child now a US citizen and eligible to run for President?

b) If a citizen of another country working or visiting in the US gives birth while here, is the child now a US citizen and eligible to run for President?

Your father misinformed you. Being born to US citizens abroad makes you a US citizne, same as if you were born in one of the states.

When and if that happens, I'll be disappointed. With grayout or bustamecha it would be in place now, in the most insidiously written form.

At least I knew better. You still haven't figured it out.

Sanctimonious twaddle. I think Governor Schwarzenegger is doing just fine, thank you. Much better than the demon's who you seem to have preferred.

Yes.

b) If a citizen of another country working or visiting in the US gives birth while here, is the child now a US citizen and eligible to run for President?

Yes
Yes

So, Arnold can not run, but other Austrian citizens, born here, can? It all comes down to vacation plans by one's parents?

"Could Arnold Schwarzenegger become president of the United States?"
Of course not. He was not born in the United States.

Most of the article was about the difficulty in amending the Constitution, which would be required to allow him to run.

I have a thought here (rare moment), In the year 2050 a guy named Armando Lopez Gonzales DeLapepper runs for president and has a shot at it, his parents were fruit pickers in CA. Oh shoot the thought ended now I'm going to get Fair_Opinion to help me end this thought.

Think about it folks...some terrorist cells have been in the United States for over 8 years....in 12 more years, they could run for President.

Which would make some of their "native born" kids about 7 years old by now.

The "native born" label does not mean the same now in the days of jet travel as it did in the days of sail when the Constitution was written.

This is especially true now that the Courts have adopted a loose interpretation of XIV Amendment citizenship rights to include every child whose mother gives birth on U.S. soils regardless of whether Mom is an illegal alien or an al Qaeda member.

The meaning of the XIV Amendment needs to be re-visited.

IMHO, "under the jurisdiction thereof" does not mean "Mom was an illegal alien or an al Qaeda operative".

It all comes down to vacation plans by one's parents?

That is exactly correct. In fact, you would be surprised how many people with resources go the states to give birth so their child can be a U.S. citizen and then return to their country with their new U.S. citizen baby.

No person except a natural-born citizen ... shall be eligible to the office of president."

If anyone in Washington makes a serious move to change the Constitution to override this provision...I personally will take up arms or leave the country since it won't matter where you live anymore.

Just think! President Omar Al-Sahd! Has a nice ring to it, no?
