Maybe the 'Cult of Youth' won't destroy Western Civilization, but will simply destroy Socialism. When I think about it THAT way, it doesn't sound so bad.
How about people pay their own way?
The author has the problem ass backwards. He urges people to produce more children so as to keep the Aussie version of Social Security afloat. But many Aussies see no need to have kids of their own because the government promises to take of them in their old age. On top of that, mandatory education and child labor laws as well as the welfare state in general render children an expensive luxury instead of the economic necessity they were in earlier times.
Patience, my friend. The best way to undermine socialism is to do it incrementally, not attack it head on. Another pet project I have is to equalize the wages of all actors/actresses in the movie business. Can you imagine how Barbara Striesand's tune would change if she had to pony up her fair share to help the SAG member from Toledo who must wait tables between $100 a day gigs as an extra?
