L&O deals with the world in a much more realistic way than almost any other drama on TV. Both liberals and conservatives take some pretty heavy hits on that show. Yup. Two years ago there was an anti-environmentalist episode that made fun of ELF and the Democrats, and this year there was an episode that showed why liberal college students taunting troops is wrong. And there's also conservative characters like Abby and Branch.
No, it's not perfect, but there's more balance there than almost anywhere else on TV.

Did the CHARACTER assault the president or Jerry Orbach himself?

I have not watched NBC,CBS or ABC (except Football & Basketball) since 1-2001. That is when we got our dish. I also watch Fox, diy most of the time. The 2000 election was enough for me.

It is a lib soap box.
I saw a couple episodes when it first started and promptly put it on my do not watch list.

Did you see Amarosa on H&C? This woman really thinks she is going to be a "brand." HELLOOO AMAROSA...people have to like you. Nobody likes you.

Did the CHARACTER assault the president or Jerry Orbach himself? The character. His name is Lennie Brisco.

It doesn't attack liberal view points...it counters every conservative argument with a left-wing rebuttal. No conservative issue goes unchallenged. I've read the scripts. An ex-boyfriend of mine was an executive producer/director on the show and I know very well who these people are. Just like Jerry Orbach, most of the people come from the New York theatre scene and, until Fred Thompson came aboard, had never met a Republican.
Go your merry way if you want, but no story on L&O airs without left-wing propaganda and hardcore ideologues behind every episode.

"Its just entertainment...its not a conservative talk show . BTW it attacks liberal viewpoints also"
Oh really? Please give examples of this. I've watched this show many times but only when I'm with my girlfriend because she likes it. Out of the few dozen episodes I've seen, there has never been any attacks on anything liberal. Once in a while the male cops take a somewhat conservative stance but then are made to look foolish by the woman cops and end up seeing the error of their ways.

I hope you wrote an actual letter and didn't just email them. The FCC makes networks and radio stations keep copies of every letter of complaint they receive, on file and they must be reported when their licenses come up for renewal.

Well, yeah, of course. But at least the conservative argument is there at all. That's better than 95% of the rest of network TV.

Yeah, I read that earlier. That was great. Nice to know there are a few decent people left in Hollywood.

I read it and it's laughable. While I'll have to admit they may throw conservatives an occasional bone on a couple of indefensible issues, the show still screams bias.
"Yup. Two years ago there was an anti-environmentalist episode that made fun of ELF and the Democrats, and this year there was an episode that showed why liberal college students taunting troops is wrong. And there's also conservative characters like Abby and Branch."
Two years ago!! That's really reaching.

Anyway...

That's about the best protest letter I've read. Short, biting, truthful, passionate, and taking no prisoners.
Excellent.

"The episode where the black muslim cop killer gets off because he claims "racism" is a clear attack on the silliness of PC. But i agree L&O is anti-conservative mostly."
I didn't see that one but I'd sure like to. It actually sounds interesting.
