The sargeant wants to plop his butt down on a piece of land that now belongs to all of us, so that he can claim ownership to it, and keep all of us from using it.
I bet you that sarge doesn't have a damned problem with the United States government having purchased land in Louisiana.

This post on social security is not the place to discuss land use issues, so I will not reply to any more threads here. If you want to debate land use issues, Ill be happy to do so.
I recommend you get on farmfriends ping list. This ping list is where you'll find me. Thats where land issues are discussed and Ill be more than eager to engage you at this forum on the matters of private property vs Marxist federal land. Ill be very interested to see you defend Clintons roadless rule and how that presents you with more hunting opportunities.
Next, I recommend you read carrie_okies book on private vs public solutions to managing the environment. This will give you a good idea where Im coming from.
Further, read the Congressional testimony of Dr. Thomas M. Bonnicksen, one of Americas premier forest ecologists, warning Congress about the miserable state of our national forests and solutions needed. (Committee on Resources US House of Representatives, August 25, 2003, titled Unhealthy and Dangerous Forests)
50 million acres of forests have burned, destroying game, boiling fish in streams, destroying soil, annihilating complete eco-systems, barbequeing endangered species and causing massive erosion, because of the imbeciles running these socialist federal forests. If you think thats good management and presents you with fishing, recreation and hunting opportunities on federal land, I have nothing more to say to you.
Finally, you dont know me or other private property owners and how we open our land to the public, while the socialist federal bureaucrats are doing everything possible to bar the public from federal land. A local group had to spend $200,000 in court to stop a bunch of fascist federal bureaucrats from illegally banning boats in our so-called National Park.
