How many of you have family in the military. We could be missing an opportunity to be speaking as a group to counter the left.

Yes I am. It was suggested at the Canteen that I start another post. This is an idea to put out press releases to counter the left from conservative military families.

What we be very helpful is for miltiary families to speak back at the left wing groups who state that they speak for all of us.

armymarinemom does great activism work on behalf of her sons and the troops - fighting the French-like "veterans'" groups (Kerry's "Vietnam Veterans Against the War"), and other domestic enemies with powerful microphones, like ANSWER.
FR is a great meeting place for military families, Veterans, troops - who have traditionally, and rightly, been there for each other.
Cal, thanks for pinging the war news crew.
Pinging a few more military Freepers that aren't on the list, but may be interested in joining fellow Veterans and other military families in this fight.

I agree. I think that is the goal of all active freepers. That is why we disseminate the correct sourced news, are active in the FR Networks, virtual freeps and what ever else we can get our teeth into.
Whatever you want on the table. We are here to make it happen.

Whatever you want on the table. We are here to make it happen. We need to pool resources and speak out on certain issues. Did any of you notice that families related to 9/11 signed a separate petition in support of our president? A lot of the mainstream media ignored them. I work with a Veterans support group that has also tried to speak out and butted heads with the mainstream press. The trouble I have run across with the support group that I do work with is that it is a nonpolitical group. It literally has it's hands tied giving support to any political party.
We as families could just sign statements to put out on press releases denouncing ridiculous statements by the left. non-partisan support is great but it does tie ones hands from time to time.

* I'm was an Army Reservist (And I knew I wasn't joining the peace corps either)
* Brother was in the Airforce

My brother is an active Navy Reservist, and my husband is an honorably discharged Vietnam Veteran who joined "The Corp"
Does that count?

I know that many of the "military family" members against the war are estranged (like the guy on the family tour of Iraq who hadn't seen his Marine KIA son for 5 years) or are aunts/uncles/cousins/etc. who are the family radicals and think their serving, wounded or KIA niece/nephew/cousin/etc. gives them a justified propaganda weapon. Because of that, I'm reluctant to define myself as a military family member, even though my nephew is in Iraq right now. I consider myself a military family member, but little sacrifice has been involved, so...
Also, I have a suggested name for your group: Military Families Against Terror. Or perhaps Military Families Against Appeasement. Or maybe Blue Star Keister-Kickers. ;-)

LOL. I was being sarcastic about the "According to the Libs part..." but you have to admit their Bush was AWOL stance indicates that serving in the Guards is not patriotic. That needs to be thrown back in their faces.
Perhaps this should be one of the first letters -- serving your country as a guardsman IS patriotic.
