LOL; I went swimming in the river in WVa when I was 14 on my birthday which is April 19th; could've use a BandAid for a jockstrap.

Seriously? I've no idea, it was just unique and against experience, but now it has finally washed offshore - Nashville doesn't set many records that can't be taken care of with a pitchfork and a lot of lime.

I'm in east Tennessee, and we had a violent hailstorm at the same time you were dealing with the snow. There had been a brief period of pea-sized hail early in the afternoon. Several hours later, I noticed a wall of black clouds approaching from the southwest, reminiscent of a squall line. Taking no chances, I moved my strawberry plants from the uncovered back deck to the covered front porch. Glad I did. I saw the first few hailstones drop from the clouds, and noticed that they were bigger...MUCH bigger. Within seconds, all 'hail' had broken loose. A torrent of them began falling; up to 1 1/2 inches across, although nicely rounded; like marbles. Only a few were jagged, like most I'd dealt with in the past. The noise was horrific; slamming into the windows and the roof of my house...along with the wind; I thought the house was going to go a couple of times. I had a car parked outside, and I was SURE it was toast. Somehow, it came through unscathed...glass intact; not even a ding. New foilage was stripped from the trees, flowers smashed to the ground...the ground and street was covered. So much slid off the roof into a pile on my front steps that it was STILL there early this evening; more than 24 hours later. 80 degrees forecast for this weekend...thank G-d.
