Good for Cavuto. BTW, would Kean be one of those liberal Republicans, affectionately known as RINOs?

That's a good question. So here's a brutal assessment of the widows. The commission may be driven by the demands of some of the widows who hate President Bush more than they hate the terrorists who killed their husbands. Thus, while Gorelick may bear some of the responsibility, as long as she is critical of President Bush and his administration, the widows will applaud her, and those who defend her.

All of these guys have said they don't want what happened to the Warren Commission to happen to the 9/11 Commission.

Well, they've locked out. Rather than leave lingering questions, they've ended up having everything they've done totally discredited.

Having Ms. Gorelick on there would be like having Lee Harvey Oswald's Cuban control on the Warren Commission.

Chairman Thomas Kean (search), the former Republican governor of New Jersey, told reporters Wednesday. "So people ought to stay out of our business."

So, why was the cry for Dr. Rice to testify in public so vocal and repetitive? She had already testified 4 hours in private.

This whole Commission is a scam. The only good that has come out of it is exposure of ineptitude of the Clinton Administration on terrorism.

Cavuto didn't say that, I did (in my best <Cavuto> voice)

...but it seems like something he'd say

Screw Kean.

Just another political insider protecting their own.

"So people ought to stay out of our business."

Good God man. This is a former elected official. Are all politicians this arrogant that they forget that they are doing the people's business. Is there one honest man on the whole commission? I ask you? Name one!

I wondered in 2002 how it was possible for Lautencadaver to win after the obvious dirty trick pulled by the 'Rats that the SCOMJ let them get away with.

Watching Kean, I am beginning to understand.

We damn well ought to form an independent citizens' commission, made up entirely of average, hard-working Moms and Dads, and then subpoena the living hell out of them for testimony and every document they have. Since WE pay the taxes, and WE are in the line of fire for doing something as ordinary as going into a shopping mall, then WE have the right to draw our own conclusions about who was responsible for giving these heathens the opportunity to violate us. Yeah, yeah, yeah, there'd be ten years' worth of litigation to get access to even a fraction of the requested records and documentation, but it would serve a three-fold purpose: one, it would most likely gather one helluva grassroots following; two, it would scare the bejeezus out of some of the principals in this current farce; and three, it would let those buffoons in Washington know that there's an ever-growing percentage of the population that wouldn't believe them if they said the sun rose every morning. Try the bastards in the town square for a change, and not in some marble-floored chamber of privilege.

This is an election year. We-the-people will vote in our states for the electors to vote for the person who will be president for the next four years. Not Dan Rather, and not Kean, and not Bob Kerry, but all of us.

The issue of the causes of the failure to prevent 911 boil down to failures or malfeasance of:

  1. Bush and the few busy months before 9/11
  2. Clinton over the years as terrorism struck the WTC, the Murrah Building, the Cole, and our embassies
  3. the Republican congressional minority, 1955-1995 and majority of 1995-2001,
  4. the Democratic congressional majority of 1955-1995, and minority of 1995-2001
The Gorelick Commission has representatives of the Congressional Democrats, the Congressional Republicans, the Clinton Administration (in the persons of Gorelick and ben Veniste, at a minimum). Notable for their absence are the commission members who have a vested interest in the Bush Administration!

The Coverup Commission is structured to be blind to the sins of the old Democrat-run Church Committee and to the sins of the Clinton Administration. And to the sins, if any, of Republican congressmen. The Gorelick Commission has no legitimate political function; it ineluctably has the illegitimate function of trying to make 911 into Watergate.

"Jamie Gorelick has made a very good contribution and she's one of the really savvy, nonpartisan of the bipartisan members," Lehman said.

Huh?!!! Anyone out there who knows Lehman-speak and can translate?

Lehman is the guy, who as Secretary of the Navy created the Lehman doctrine. We were going to invade the Soviet Union from their East Coast - and march accross Siberia to Moscow - I kid you not. I don't know whether this struck terror in the hearts of the masters of the Kremlin or whether this was the final blow to the Soviet regime - because they all died laughing. I mean, Hitler and Napolean showed you couldn't defeat Russia from Europe and we were going to march accross thousands of miles of frozen nothing? Perhaps he was inspired by the example of Ghengis Khan, except we were going to use tanks that need fuel and not Mongolian ponies.

Has this story been reported in the mainstream press ANYWHERE? (Aside from FNC, of course.)

Here's an even more blunt and brutal assessment of the widows:

(1) How can we in the general public be assured that these people really did lose husbands in the 9/11 attacks? Absent independent facts to support their claims, we have no way to know for certain.

(2) How can we in the general public know if any of the widows were (a) cheating on their husbands and/or (b) planning a divorce before their husbands' unfortunate demise?

(3) How can we know if any were already in divorce proceedings, or already divorced and are actually the ex-wives of men who died?

(4) How can we know if any were political players or activists before 9/11 and are merely continuing as before?

(5) How can we know if their partisanship stems from any new relationships in their lives?

(6) How can we know if any have been paid in money, goods or services in return for fronting for their political cause?

Any enterprising reporters out there who want to tackle these questions on behalf of the American people? No, I didn't think so.

I don't think it's been in USA Today, ABC, NBC, CBS or any major newspapers.

Frustrating.
