Michigan City Council OKs Muslim Prayer Over Loudspeaker

Hamtramck,Mich.--Over some residents' objections, the City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to allow a mosque to send out a call to prayer to Muslims on a loudspeaker....five times a day.

Whoa! Wait a minute. Seems to me there's a legal issue here. If they can stop Christians from saying GOD out loud and in the Pledge, or saying prayer out loud, then they should not be allowed to put their prayer over a loud speaker and to force it on others. I sure hope Christians in Michigan take a stand against this whole idiotic idea. If we keep being tolerant, Muslims will overtake Christianity.

And in our city the city council said we could not ring the church bell to announce Sunday morning services. They say someone in the neighborhood complained and the church decided to stop ringing it.

I've been trying to get our church to ring it again despite what the city says and the complaint.

Gee, you figured that out huh? Sorry to be sarcastic, but what you have here is a city council who will make their town a war zone either way. That's how Islam expands. It's not tolerant of anything once statistics of population afford them a say by the sword, preying on those who welcome inclusion because it's the decent thing to do.

Every time there is a call to prayer, dial #911 and claim there are airplanes flying into the buildings downtown.

Ya think so? I don't. I think we are a nation of whimps and self worshipping debased pleasure seekers. The one or two percent decent folks wil be 'removed' before the Moslems are quelled.

Learn the lesson of hamtramck. Dont allow this in other communities. If it happens, church bells should begin ringing 24 hours a day and it's time to put christian prayer back in public. Christians in this town should MAKE SURE louder noises are heard from Christians.

If allah can be praised in public, time for christians to do the same thing with their real God!

5am call to prayer. That sucks. Will they next allow the 3am Koran reading too?

i've spent time in Indonesia, and all the loud speakers start up at 3am with the Koran reading, then 5am for the call to prayer, and it continues all through the day until around 10pm. I think there may be something at 12am, but i don't remember.

There is still time to have the Mayor of Michigan City make a proclamation for the National Day of Prayer, May 6, and have a courthouse ceremony proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord over the city and county.

This year's theme is "Let Freedom Ring", which is taken from Leviticus 25:10. "...proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants."

Public prayer gatherings are scheduled for all the towns in our 5 county area plus courthouse ceremonies in 3 county seats. (5 next year)
