What difference? Well, the Slimes is (usually) at least marginally literate, for one thing (g!).

Let's make them hurt for their efforts.

With their elitist attitudes towards the masses, they figure they don't have to listen to the protests of the Right when we all howl about their biases. I howl every week to my local rag, and get Bupkes.

We don't even demand that they color it OUR way. We just want the news. If they insist on inserting their bias or commentary, then I want it so noted and I want equal time for the opposing view.

NOW, I am sure we could maybe get Hannity and O'Reilly and the rest of Fox News to have a one day/one week demonstration of how the NYT and their ilk need to listen to those of us who resent their attitudes. I am sure we could get the point across all over the US by having a boycott the paper day/week(?). This would work fine in big cities where people could buy the NYPost instead of the Times at a newstand...I am still not sure how to wangle it for delivered local newspapers we want to FReep - maybe have one designated week where everyone would call and have the paper stopped, like for "vacation"?

Might finally get the point across. And no sneaking over to the neighbor's yard to steal the coupons....

My question is - did this come up on FreeRepublic back in January?

I would think so. I know Fred Barnes said it was mentioned there was an investigation being put into motion into alleged prisoner abuse in the Washington ComPost, and Fred Barnes said he happend to have been in Iraq at that time of the press conference on January 16th.

Let's face it, the RATS are desperate. To say that Kerry is an inept candidate is putting it mildly. He's a walking disaster, with only his wife's money to recommend him. Their only hope is to get Hill on the ticket as VP and continually bash Bush from now until Nov. so that's what they're doing.

I think it's gotten to the point now where bashing them is useful only as a form of entertainment. It's not like they have much influence.

If the media were really shaping opinion in this country, we would not have a Republican in the White House, Republican majorities in both houses of Congress, and a majority of Governorships in GOP hands. Obviously, they hate every minute of that.

It's actually kind of fun to watch. The more it becomes obvious that no one pays attention to them anymore, the more partisan and shrill their rhetoric becomes. It's like watching the police try to get one of those acreaming psychotics into the back of the cruiser. The closer they get to closing the door on him, the harder he kicks and the louder he yells. He's trying to save people from the evil space aliens, but they just won't listen.

I see the grey old lady is having another one of her frequent bouts of journalistic incontinence.

Uh, none of that matters. It's not P.C., so it doesn't exist for the media or the Euroweenies who hate us.

Well I said it before and I will repeat myself

If all the so called conservatives and or GOP would quit buying the Times ( both ) and the Wash Post they would have an atitude adjustment

Same goes for alumni that donate to our left wing universities

I can hardly bear to watch those idiot posturing senators with all their pomposity. The news media is their lapdog and NYT tops the list.

I pray for strength for President Bush and his staff to withstand all the garbage tossed at them.

Maybe we will find out that a dem operative gave the orders for this and had the photos and videos made. Wouldn't that be something. Certainly would not be reported by the NYT. Anyway, if it means investigating instead of having it leaked to them, they'd never find out anyway.

Maybe Kerry should sign up these prison guards and those who gave the orders for this fiasco to be his new band of brothers. After all, he admitted he committed war crimes.

Plus 8/9ths of the letter section is all Bush-bashing tripe as well. They really did go all out today, just amazing.

Fortunately, the Thoughtomator NY Times Rule-of-Thumb applies here.

The NYT wishes and sighs for everything being "like Vietnam" again (even to bringing back Anthony Lewis). But it's not. In addition, the NYT has lost both its news dominance and its reader respect. The latter started when news became "analysis". The Times was 40 years ago a wonderful paper. I looked foward daily to reading it. Now, it is a long-winded, liberal bore, that has trashed a noble inheritance.
