Did Hillary reveal who leaked report in her questioning of Rumsfeld today?

In today's testimony before the Armed Services Committee Hillary Clinton may have revealed the source of the leak of the report. Please have a look at the relevant snippets of the transcript from today.

I guess my theory is this: If she isn't behind the leak, she knows exactly who is.

The atrocities that have been depicted in photographs were very graphically, verbally, described in the Taguba report. It doesn't take a lot of imagination to read those descriptions and have one's stomach just turn in disgust.

The focus on the pictures being released is, with all due respect, missing the point. The report was well known, and apparently discussed on numerous occasions. And obviously, the release of the pictures to the entire world was devastating.

But the underlying conduct, and the failure of the command, both at the site and further up the chain, to act with the appropriate quick response, is really at the heart of what the most serious problems we face here today are.

RUMSFELD: Well, Senator, first let me say, with respect to the question that Senator Reed raised, I can't conceive of anyone looking at the pictures and suggesting that anyone could have recommended, condoned, permitted, encouraged, subtly, directly, in any way, that those things take place.

Second, the decision that was made by the president of the United States that you referred to was announced. And in the announcement it was said that the Al Qaida in Guantanamo that are captured in the world, mostly in Afghanistan, would be treated consistent with the Geneva Convention. That is a fact.

You say the report was well known. I don't know how you know that. All I know is when it made the public, when somebody took a secret document out of prosecutorial channels and released it to the press, I do not believe it was yet anywhere in the Pentagon. Certainly, I had not been given it or seen it.

I quite agree with you. When you read the report, you do get an impression, as you suggested, that there is something much worse than what was in the press release, for example, in January or the discussion in March by the Central Command.

RUMSFELD: But that was not something that had been moved past the Central Command, to my knowledge. It may have been somewhere in the Department of Defense, but certainly I had not received a copy. It was still in those channels.

As I heard Rumsfeld explain it, this issue was still in the criminal investigation stage, that is not yet delivered to the Pentagon.

It was secret, for the protection of the defendants, just like our Constitution provides.

Hillary and/or her leakers were in violation of the law and the Constitution by passing it along to ANYONE not directly connected to the criminal investigation.

That said, Clinton's left booby traps all over the Executive branch.

Rumsfeld immediatelypicked up on her reference and was very blunt in his response. Indeed, the entire statement he made is wrapped around the simple principle of "Oh really, how the &^%$ did you know before me?"

I expect an internal investigation has started, and that dumbass in the crusty pants suit just made the focus a whole lot easier. They're going to rip into every Clinton-connected employee like nobody's business now.

It also sounds as if that dingbat didn't get her ducks in a row on this one--she has been inelegant and revealing in the past, but not this freaked out after a misstep such as this.

I remember Memogate. Senator Rockefeller, on the Senate Select Intelligence Committee, wrote a memo detailing a plan to selectively declassify and use against President Bush anything potentially embarrassing that they could.

He was called to task by a few others, among them Senator Roberts, head of the committee, and Senator Zell Miller, who said, "If this is not treason, it is a close cousin."

Senator Rockefeller was called on to resign over it. He refused to, and he refused to apologize.

Heard it on Rush today. I thought, 'Yes, Hillary, you serpent, let's keep the focus on the subject of the pictures, not what went wrong with internal security to subvert the handling of this matter in a gracious and discreet way.
