No gods, no Judgement of Paris. How could they leave out the divine beauty contest that triggered the whole thing?

Yeah, and that's a very dim view, if that's where they're coming from. I was going to blame it on production laziness, but your assessment is probably closer to home...
I was actually going to watch this flick even though it has ArmPitt in it, but now I ain't.

I don't know why they thought they couldn't find anyone
to portray the gods, they all had human characteristics,
and if they had shown the petty nature and relationships
between the various humans and their gods it all would
have made sense.
How Akillius had a choice to make, glory and death in front of troy or a long life and ignominy at home, I,I'm verklempt! Darkness covers my sight. I repair to the undergloom.
Where does Akillius armor come from if not Hephestos?
Patron of Blacksmiths everywhere!
Oh it's all too much!

See, I couldn't wear that. I'd have to wax my legs and thighs and it would take a lot of wax [due to a massive about of hair -- ouch!].
I wouldn't go thru that torment for any fashion.

Deluded in Hollywood.
Sure. They can wear skirts, breastplates and carry swords. And they can all look like the cast of Caligula.
Boxers or briefs under pleated skirts?
Or nothing at all?

Pitt also defended the decision to deviate from Homer and not include any gods in the film. Petersen said gods would not have played well with audiences today. "Sing, O goddess O secular humanist entertainment corporation, the anger of Achilles son of Peleus, that brought countless ills upon the Achaeans........."

I don't think think skirts of any sort will ever catch on with men in this country... Somehow I can't picture male truckers wearing skirts. Come to think of it, I can't even picture female truckers with skirts.

That skirt is not YOU, Brad! It's so garish and tacky! No self-respecting Greek hero would be caught dead in something so Wal-Mart. Flexing the biceps is good but won't save the situation here. If only you'd called us in time!

To: maxwell
It's settled then. Hopefully ain't nobody gonna go see this movie.
just hyping the movie... I feel sorry for actors who go out and talk up movies they are in, when the movie is a stinker. but sometimes they do refuse to do the talk show thing when they know it will be a bomb.
I didn't notice if hugh jackman did any shows for VanHelsing... so far all reports are that it stinks
To: John Jorsett
Umm, er, uh, not anytime soon. Then again, I've never been a slave to fashion, one of my many faults.
