I predicted this days ago.

And yes, I'm proud of anticipating the real story.

It's just sex. It IS NOT the public's business. Let the peace keepers go back to work for the American public protecting the children yadda yadda...

Some muslims in the military have already fragged their own troops this war (grenade in the tent among others). It would not surprise me to learn of an attempt to discredit the military by deliberately engaging in bad behavior.

Even with that, there have been fake photos published (at least in the arab press) that were sourced from a porn web site.

Additionally fake photos may have run in the Daily Mirror.

There ARE those who are seeking to exploit this scandal to diminish the war effort (restore the Saddamites?). The media is HARDLY being impartial in this war (then again they believed Baghdad Bob the first few days he told "the truth" about American troops being trapped in the swamps).

It's a set up! The simple explanation is that certain anti-war, anti-admin soldiers decided that the best way to end the war would be to embarrass our country. What would embarrass us more than exposing our role in the development of technology that puts pornography in every living room in the world?

Not that the same technology would have been invented and dispersed by any given culture, willingly or not, if it had been invented by them. Nonetheless, we are the leaders, so we get blamed for not doing it right the first time, time and again.

They are over there to do a job of defending our country from our enemies, foreign or domestic....MP's in a POW detainee camp. Not to make porn flicks for goodness sake.

Check out this post from National Review's "The Corner" from an American soldier in Iraq:

"I’m here in Iraq – we’ve got a no-sex and no-alcohol order here. Period. No sex with fellow soldiers. No sex with locals. No sex with CPA civilians. Also, no beverage alcohol (CPA civilians drink in our presence but our orders prohibit it to military personnel) anytime, anyway, anyplace. Our leaders/commanders are authorized to take non-judicial punishment against anyone who breaks these rules."

Was Leash Girl "just following orders" by getting pregnant from her guard boyfriend? I guess the porn videos of them having sex were also approved by their superiors, right?

Olberman told Lynndie England's lawyers (four, count 'em--FOUR, and they haven't even met her yet) on tonight. He told them that NBC was reporting that a lot of the video is consensual sex between England and Graner (the father of her baby). The large woman lawyer claimed this was irrelevant. I think it is highly relevant.

I just posted info on the rules the troops over there are supposed to follow. They're under orders not to have sex with anyone when they're in Iraq -- not fellow soldiers, not civilians, no one.

The United Nations is involved in sex scandals (rape, teen prostitution, sexual slavery, etc.) and there isn't a peep from the national/world media.

I don't think you were watching the same war unfold that I was. Those were some awesome military units. All of them from top to bottom.

If you recall from your Constitution, the regulating of the military is the specific domain of the Congress. That makes this of public interest.

More, though, is the fact that the sex mentioned is included in the Abu Ghraib photos. What were they thinking?!?

Excluding the "forced masterbation", is sex between soldiers a criminal act?

http://www.au.af.mil/au/awc/awcgate/ucmj2.htm#920.%20ART.%20120.%20RAPE%20AND%20CARNAL%20KNOWLEDGE

THIS IS WHAT THE UCMJ (Unifrm Code of Military Justice) SAYS

920. ART. 120. RAPE AND CARNAL KNOWLEDGE

(a) Any person subject to this chapter who commits an act of sexual intercourse with a female not his wife, by force and without consent, is guilty of rape and shall be punished by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct.

(b) Any person subject to this chapter who, under circumstances not amounting to rape, commits an act of sexual intercourse with a female not his wife who has not attained the age of sixteen years, is guilty of carnal knowledge and shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

(c) Penetration, however slight, is sufficient to complete either of these offenses.

Without reading through the thread, can someone fill me in on whether these were hetero- or homosexual activities?

Southack, if this turns out to be a gay porn ring, I'll be the first to admit that you had this nailed from the start...

Well Drudge has just updated his headline a bit. One of the pictures the pentagon has is of soldiers sodomizing prisoners with glow sticks.

That's a kodak moment if I have ever seen one.
