A lawsuit many called frivolous because it sought more than $41 million from the U.S. government for the relatives of 11 Mexican nationals who died trying to cross illegally into the United States has proven to have more staying power than predicted.

A federal court in Tucson has given the relatives another two months to prove accusations that their family members died in the treacherous southern Arizona desert in May 2001 because the Interior Department failed to approve the installation of water stations "in the exact area" of the desert where the Mexicans were found dead.

Oops...barf alert

Sheesh..gays marrying, abortion, illegal immigration, our own citizens not being able to pay for college since the foreigners get it, islamonazis. At this rate, we'll do ourselves in before the islamonazis do...

You should start an "End of Times" thread on the basic study of Revelation and how it compares to today's news.

Beijing last night threatened Taiwan with destruction if President Chen Shui-bian doesn't accept China is "one nation."

In an official statement, the mainland government warned Taiwan leaders to make choices about the future carefully...

The U.S. has sent its aircraft carrier strike group led by the USS Kitty Hawk to cruise the East Asian region ahead of Thursday's inauguration ceremony.

This is very troubling. I have sort of been keeping up with the ships going back to the Persian Gulf and in the last few weeks there have have been about 10 of all kinds some destroyer's for a year and a half.
My son and everyone under I think it was E3 (grunts) were told about 3 months ago to get ready for sea duty. Nothing has could of this yet, but things may be a whole lot worst then we think.

Include all of St. John's writings, not just Revelations...his Gospel has so much applicable to today. The religious forum at FR would be a great resource for commentary.

Disturbing.

Glad we are watching. The rest of the world can't see this:

Supervisors in the Tucson Sector declined to comment for this article. T.J. Bonner, a 25-year veteran of the force and president of the National Border Patrol Council, the union that represents 9,000 rank-and-file agents, confirmed that the documents were authentic. In the documents, agents suggest that amid the crowds and chaos, they are in danger of losing control of segments of the 1,951-mile U.S.-Mexico border

...because they are watching Bruce and Steve run out of the courtroom doors on the evening news [which WILL be the top story].

That's not good. It will be interesting to see how the assassination of the Iraqi official affects our markets.

Previously unknown group claims responsibility for killing senior Iraqi official

The Associated Press
5/17/04 9:28 AM

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) -- A previously unknown group claimed responsibility Monday for killing the current Iraqi Governing Council president, saying in a Web site posting that two of its fighters carried out the operation that led to the death of "the traitor and mercenary Izzadine Saleem."

The claim from a group identifying itself as the Arab Resistance Movement was posted on an Internet site devoted to Iraqi issues.

The Web site carried other messages of praise for the killing.

"Two heroic members of the Arab Resistance Movement, Al-Rashid Brigades -- and they are Ali Khaled al-Jabouri and Mohammed Hassan al-Samaraei -- carried out a qualitative heroic operation" that killed Saleem, the statement said.

It said the group will continue its "jihad" or holy war until Iraq and Palestine are liberated.

The Web site carried other messages of praise for the killing. It also prominently mentions Anbar province, a Sunni-dominated area of activity against the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq.
