I told them that unless they allow and solicit RIGHT OF CENTER comments, I will stop buying their food.

Left of center in this case, has nothing to do with politics. All you need to do to figure this out is read the packets.

What else could "left of center" mean? I've read the packets. Here's what their Web site says:

What is a sauce wisdom?

It’s a Taco Bell-inspired phrase that provides a humorous look at reality. The message should be short (no longer than 70 characters), simple, left of center and about the little things in life – anything from going on a date to eating a meal.

Here are some examples of current sauce wisdoms:

We usually say "out in left field," around here, but it amounts to the same thing--quirky, different, odd.

My buddy ate there once and developed all kinds of problems. He said it even gave him parasites and tape worms, one of which got quite large. Like a tapeworm about 17 inches long, and they couldn't kill this thing. They tried all kinds of medications and treatments to kill this giant parasite, so the doctor finally had the guy lay on his stomach and they propped open his mouth and put a piece of raw meat in front of him, the tapeworm slowly came out and the doctor and nurse grabbed it. It was really sickening. I'll make my burritos at home thanks...

Far left extremist comments like:

"The road to mediocrity is littered with empty ketchup packets."

"Fire sauce... the new ketchup."

"Be gentle."

"The official sauce of Taco Bell®."

"Live life one sauce packet at a time."

"Save a bun, eat a taco."

"How many of these do you already have in your glove compartment?"

Really inflammatory Anti-American, Anti-Bush stuff, don't you agree???

Taco Bell doesn't have hot sauce. It's mild at best.

Live life one sauce packet at a time
Use your stomach, nacho mind
Single Fire sauce seeking friendship, maybe more
Polly want a taco?
My other taco is a Chalupa

Yeah, real leftist stuff here. This kind of thing will surely convince the ignorant masses to vote for Kerry. Someone better alert Hannity et al. /sarcasm

He's right about Wal-Mart's eminent domain abuses. I admire the Waltons' business savvy, but there is no excuse for using government power to steal people's homes and property away from them. It's not capitalist, it's fascist.

I like encheritos (sp?) but they used to have a taco burger that was really good - taco meat in a burger bun. I used to spread mild sauce on it. But they stopped making those. WHY OH WHY?!!!!!! I'll reserve judgement on the little sayings until I find out what they're all about.

Taco Bell is owned by Yum! Brands which gives a lot of dough to the GOP. Most of the directors also donate exclusively to the GOP.

A very small amount of thought/research would have spared all of us this silly thread.

Doesn't 'left of center' in this context mean sort of oddball or offbeat, like 'out in left field'?

That would be "from left-field." In this case, I think they mean politically.

Lightened up! Just posted so that we could share some humor with Taco Bell. You don't have to go to the extremes of Boortz. Dang.

I can't say that I too will stop eating at TB. I already believe their food(term used loosely) is not fit for human consumtion. Anybody who eats that sh$t is a fool and does not care at all what they put into their body. Sorry if I offended any of you late night, semi buzzed(or just flat out drunk) TB eaters on this board.

With a little work, they can be made into inflammatory, Anti-American statements. Or at least sound like they were made by the U.S. media:

"Be gentle - to Iraqi prisoners!"

"Fire sauce - the new ketchup of AMERICAN IMPERIALIST DOGS!"

"The road to mediocrity is littered with empty shell casing from U.S. artilery fired upon innocent Iraqi citizens."
