I think Fox just reported the Saudis attacked and freed the hostages? Bandar on.
It could be because the real force was coming in at ground level where the Sauds wouldn't allow TV's to see.

It is very possible that you are correct. Making them think the good guys are on the roof when in fact they are coming in the front and back and side doors.

Remember Desert Storm. The media (unwittingly) focused a lot on the Marines that were going to be leading the assault into Kuwait. We knew everything there was to know about that Marine group, even when it sailed to make the landings on Kuwaiti beaches.
The overwhelming storming of the beaches of Kuwait never happened...instead major Army units did an end run through Iraq and Marine ground units went into Kuwait from the south. But Iraq and the world had their eyes on the beaches.

Well, they just announced it on the crawl under the screen on CNN. Said the goblins were all on a list of suspected Al Quaeda terrorists.
I watched it on TV and couldn't believe that the team came ashore without neutralizing those lights and people with hostile looking objects (cameras) pointed at them.
Darn...seems like no one's job is safe from out sourcing these days.
I think I remember reading something about a handful of Navy SEALs blowing the hell out of the beach prior to the invasion and that was enough for Saddam to move two divisions(something like 30,000 troops) to meet what he thought to be the incoming amphibious assault.
The press was waiting on the beach with lights and cameras when a team of guys hit the beach in Somalia. I remember it because one of the operators had a custom 45 in his hand at the time.
Can't argue a guy whose a member of the Church of St. John Browning.
Yep. Even the many and highly praised military analysts knew it was going to be an amphibious operations that was the main drive.
