You don't make that decision.....Some people in this thread should stop judging the guy for lying and let the Almighty work it out when the time comes.
Peter denied Christ 3 times and received forgiveness. THANK YOU!
But have you forgotten the verse where Jesus says (paraphrasing) "Those who deny Me before men I will also deny. Those who acknowledge Me before men I will also acknowledge."?
And wasn't he used greatly after that also, giving testimony at the temple shortly thereafter, and many were converted, like 3,000 or something? So he was not only forgiven, but greatly used? In fact, all throughout the New Testament, isn't it shown how many great men and women (and remember the prostitute in the OT who hid Israel and lied to the enemy) committed great sins and were still greatly used? I thought that was a main theme of the New Testament, Grace and Forgiveness.

Thanks!
I often wonder what these folks think about things like "shalt not kill" and "shall not commit adultry"...how do they excuse what King David did? I'm pretty sure he made it to Heaven.
I'd like to think that I wouldn't deny Christ in such a time. But I hope to God that I'm never in such a situation. None of us can say with certainty what we'd do.
