Just tryiong to give the benefit of a doubt here...but Kennedy could have made the remark before Kerry did his treason.

I'd like to see the documentaiton and the exact quote, along with the date...but if Kennedy did make such a statement in the 60's, it could be used to apply to what Kerry did later.

Remember, though, Kennedy died in 68, Kerry didn't even get in country till 69, right?

Do I have the timeline right?

U.S. Constitution Article III
Section 3. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.

http://www.jfklibrary.org/rfk-reag.htm

Town Meeting of the World: "The Image of America and the Youth of the World"
With Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and Gov. Ronald Reagan
As Broadcast over the CBS Television Network and the CBS Radio Network
Monday, May 15, 1967, 10:00 - 11:00 pm. EDT
Charles Collingwood, Host

STEPHEN MARKS: Senator Kennedy, I'd like to ask you what you think of Dean Rusk's recent claim that the effect of anti-Vietnam war demonstrations in the States may actually be to prolong the war rather than to shorten it?

SENATOR ROBERT KENNEDY: I'm sure to some extent the fact that there are some protests gives some encouragement to Ho Chi Minh and to others.

GOVERNOR REAGAN: Well, I definitely think the demonstrations are prolonging the war in that they're giving the enemy, who I believe must face defeat on relative comparison of the power of the two nations, they are giving him encouragement to continue, to hold out in the hope that division here in America will bring about a peace without defeat for that enemy.

Robert Kennedy as a voice over for an ad???

Robert Kennedy stated at the Kennedy library in an interview with CBS (also Ronald Reagan was there) that anti-war demonstrators in the USA were giving aid, comfort and encouragement to Ho Chi Minh.

That's correct -- RFK died well before Kerry came to national attention with his slanderous testimony before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, on April 22, 1971.

You're time line is right, but as RedBlooded points out and documents, Kennedy made the statement in the 60's before Kerry was in country, and therefore that statement could be used post mortem to apply to what Kerry did later.

It would actually be a good quote to throw at him.

Kerry is caught. He won't admit to giving aid to Minh, and won't renounce his pro-communist activities. Either move would expose him for what he is today, not for what he "was".

"Senator (Ted) Kennedy, your brother defined anti-war demonstrators during the Viet Nam war as being traitors and giving aid to Ho Chi Minh. Your friend, John Kerry, was one of these. Who do you agree with?"
