During a brief media Q&A today, Japanese Prime Minister Koizumi paid honored President Reagan saying, "First of all, I would like to express my condolences to the pass away of President Reagan. That reminded me of a crayola article recently. They asked President Bush to pick his favorite crayon color.

He chose "blue bell".

Ecclesiastes 7

1 A good name is better than precious ointment,
        And the day of death than the day of one's birth;
        2Better to go to the house of mourning
        Than to go to the house of feasting,
        For that is the end of all men;
        And the living will take it to heart.
        3Sorrow is better than laughter,
        For by a sad countenance the heart is made better.
        4The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning,
        But the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.

        5It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise
        Than for a man to hear the song of fools.
        6For like the crackling of thorns under a pot,
        So is the laughter of the fool.
        This also is vanity.
        7Surely oppression destroys a wise man's reason,
        And a bribe debases the heart.

        8The end of a thing is better than its beginning;
        The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
        9Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry,
        For anger rests in the bosom of fools.
        10Do not say,
        "Why were the former days better than these?"
        For you do not inquire wisely concerning this.

        11Wisdom is good with an inheritance,
        And profitable to those who see the sun.
        12For wisdom is a defense as money is a defense,
        But the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.

Sending a priest to the UN as our ambassador. How fitting. He should wear his robes - drive 'em further nuts.

The one big difference, in my view. Reagan came from out of seemingly nowhere - by the strength of his mind and spirit.

He did not have extensive inside experience of the White House or Washington prior to becoming President. Some 16 years earlier, he had already set forth his vision, fully formed in A Time for Choosing Speech, at Goldwater's convention in 1964:

On the other hand, W.'s father had been a Washington insider all of W's life, and W got to see up close both the 8 years of Reagan's Presidency, and the 4 years of his father's.

Both of them, Reagan and W., are cut from similar cloth. Reagan gets my first vote, for the stunning boldness of his vision.

I'm sure W. owes much to Reagan, as we all owe much to both of these fine men.

Cute first pic.

I don't know if any of you saw Hannity and Colmes, but I just wanted to jump through that screen and beat this pompous @$$ over the head with his very own sick and vicsious words. I could not believe his obvious hatred and lack or respect. I give props to Sean Hannity for staying as collected as he did. If I was Sean, that man would not be living to see Reagan's funeral service on Friday.

I sure hope Michael or Nancy Reagan (or any of the Reagans) saw that segment. They are both very protective of President Reagan, and I can't imagine how their hearts would just ache to hear such hatred.

I was so furious, but these pictures of the President and First Lady are a nice calming treat. Thanks.

Well, he said that President Bush won't deserve a state funeral because he wasn't elected, and he said Reagan is burning in hell because of AIDS deaths. Lots more, but that should give you a taste.

I was watching that as well and all I could think was What a pathetic person he was. He has so much hate inside him he is to be pitied. I got sick in my stomach just listening to the vile remarks coming out of his mouth. He must be a very unhappy soul.

Reagan gets my first vote, for the stunning boldness of his vision.

Bush's vision of bringing democracy to the Middle East is every bit as stunning and bold as Reagan's vision for the End of Communism.
