Iranian woman 'gives birth to frog'
BBC ^ | 27 June, 2004

An Iranian newspaper has reported the controversial story of a woman who claims to have given birth to a frog. The Iranian daily Etemaad says the creature is believed to have grown from larva to an adult frog inside her body.

While it is unclear how this could have happened, the paper carries quotes from medical experts who say there are human characteristics to the animal.

It has been speculated that the woman, who has not been named, unknowingly picked up the larva while she was swimming in a dirty pool.

The woman, from the south-eastern city of Iranshahr, is a mother of two children.

The "so-called frog", as the newspaper puts it, has yet to undergo precise genetic and anatomic tests.

But it quotes clinical biology expert Dr Aminifard as saying: "The similarities are in appearance, the shape of the fingers and the size and shape of the tongue."

Medical history recounts stories of people who believed they had frogs - or even lizards or snakes - living and growing in their bodies.

One of the most famous was the 17th Century case of Catharina Geisslerin, known as "the toad-vomiting woman" of Germany.

When she died in 1662 doctors are said to have performed an autopsy, but found no evidence animals had ever lived inside her body.

I guess it's easier to believe you gave birth to a frog than a seriously deformed child. This is just sad.

My thought exactly. Kermit the Frog has not been seen in the US recently since Disney acquired the Muppets. Seeing how the Arabic countries have a disdain for pork, Miss Piggy could not accompany Kermit to that area of the world. Kermit the Frog, being alone and lonely, sought closeness with an Iranian woman. After sleeping with a pig for all of these years, Kermit sought to make a small upgrade in women.

Dirty water? I recall reading a book by adventurers in Asia where the local guides would stuff plugs of tobacco in "where the sun didn't shine" when having to wade/swim through waters which had parasitic worms. The Cuban sure didn't help Monica from that slick worm parasite.

Her execution will be scheduled soon. Men are allowed sex with animals, Women are not.

Also frogs are not born. Frogs lay eggs, the larval stage of frogs are tadpoles. Tadpoles live like little fisheys. As a tadpole matures, little legs start developing and the tail is reabsorbed.

Iranian National Enquirer.

Considering the remarks around Jag Lady in this thread, this could be construed as being forward.

I am sure Jag Lady moves with facile grace and seductive beauty. I meant nothing disrespectful.

We southern gals don't do things like that without saying "Bless you heart" first . eg:" Bless his heart, He could eat corn from a cob through a picket fence",, or "Bless her poor heart, Her behind is beginning to look like the south end of a north bound bull". It's not lady like.

I was inquiring about the toothy grin on that frog. I am green with graphic envy. I was able to copy a closed mouth frog, but bless his heart, his lips were stiller than Kerry's last botox overdose.

Don't try confusing us with facts. We've got a frog thread going here! <;^)

Since frogs taste like chicken, I just happen to have a bunch of chicken ready in 1 hour to barbecue; but they must soak in my liquid creation for a little while:) I forgot to buy beer today. So I must go out AGAIN and buy beer. Bring your southern hospitality and a head of lettuce and everything will be just fine:):)
