Kerry: 'I Don't Want to Claim That God Is on Our Side'

Sen. John Kerry revealed a lot about himself in his speech last night at the Democrat convention, such as when he paraphrased fellow Democrat Ron Prescott Reagan: "I don't wear my own faith on my sleeve."
He failed to mention that those Catholic bishops who actually practice the Catholic faith ban him from receiving Holy Communion in their dioceses. But today he's probably regretting how much he exposed about himself when he said, "I don't want to claim that God is on our side."

So Kerry doesn't want to claim that God is on our side. What is more comforting? God is on our side or Satan is rooting against us?

Rest assured He is not. The Judeo Cristian God does not advocate abortion any time for any reason nor homosexuality nor lazy people drawn to socialism - which is what you are all about. Who does stand with you is the devil.

Perhaps, for once, Kerry actually told the truth for a moment during his whiplashing vacillation. He does not want to claim that God is on his side because Kerry is on the side of the terrorists and God is on the side of His people.

That line gave me the willies.
How can John eFing even mention God in a convention full of folks who either don't believe in God, don't want God ever mentioned or follow a God that wants American wiped off the face of the earth.
To follow up, when John eFing started on the flag, I expected the Dem faithful to set flags ablaze all over the hall.

This statement is taken out of context, and when you read the rest of the quote (paraphrased from Lincoln) there really is no hay to made from this.
A proper rebuttal would be something along the lines of "Well, you're not on God's side either."

Which brings up the thing mentioned previously; did anyone get pictures of the 'Rat delegates tromping on the flags they we're previously waving at Thursdays "love-in"?
To: counterpunch
Kerry's statement along with Howard Dean saying the other day that people will someday become tired of voting for Godly principles and turn to the democratic party, can't be any more descriptive as where these people want to take us. Ironic because the very same things they want to accomplish such as inclusiveness and diversity for all walks of life can only be accomplished under a Godly authority.

...because you really, really, really, want power and glory.... discusting....." ...and dangerous:
Remember King Harod?:
"Now Herod had been very angry with the people of Tyre and Sidon; but they came to him with one accord, and having made Blastus the king's personal aide their friend, they asked for peace, because their country was supplied with food by the king's country.
So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them. And the people kept shouting, "The voice of a god and not of a man!" Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died. But the word of God grew and multiplied."

What he said was "I don't want to claim God is on our side --
I want to claim that we're on God's side." What a putrid POS this clown is. I wonder which "side" of God is out there legislating for partial birth abortion (all the while receiving the Body of His Son during Mass).

No, I think the proper rebuttal would be something like "don't you guys call him 'Allah'?"

The better response to, "I don't want to claim that God is on our side." is to rephrase the position to emphasize, "I want to faithfully claim we are on God's side." and hopefully God will gracefully exclaim, "You are on my side!"

I took it as another misquote of Bush - some time ago, the President said that he didn't believe that God was neutral in the situation on terror, the gist being that he believed that God was on the side of the just and that we were the just,vs. the evildoers.

Proof that God is on our side is the fact that the Rats nominated Kerry. If one wanted to design a living turkey of a candidate, they'd come up with either Kerry or Dean.
BTW, with a name like that you need to post some of your pictures, at least on your bio page ;>)

It seems a given that John Effing Kerry believes in some sort of god that would not take a side betwixt the child murdering Islamists .... and America.
Some god!
As good as no god at all. Which of course is what he actually believes.
Caveat: It would appear however that God HAS allowed the children of Satan calling themselves Islamists to punish us for our sins. Will we repent?

Big difference, Lincoln was speaking from humility, praying that his decisions were right. Kerry comes from the Liberal ARROGANCE that denies judgment of the immorality of their actions...do not dare judge them and do not mention that God could be judging them as well.
But then one day he will have to answer for his hypocrisy, arrogance and lies....tough day!!!

this is taken out of context and just as bad when we do as when they do it.
he said "I dont want to claim that God is on our side, I want to say that we are on God's side" (it is an old quote)
BUT!!!!!!!!!! how many people in the audience don't want God in the classrooms or court houses... etc...
He managed to hit ALL the liberal hot button AND the conservative ones in the SAME SPEACH
