Hey yourself (it's a southern thing)!
So glad you've found your band of brothers and sisters here.
You couldn't have come to a better place. I hope to see some aricles from you. I'll be looking out.
All the best to you and yours.

Thanks! I don't want to boo-hoo, but rest assured I will kick some kids' butt if they hurt my babies.

Shermy, I think everyone has ignored your link. You should post this article in a thread all by itself. I don't think it helps our cause too much, however.

Kerry is a war hero ONLY in the sense that anyone who went to Vietnam is considered a war hero.

In reality, he negated that goodwill not only by distorting and lying about his own service, but then returning to lie and distort the years of service of his fellow soldiers.

Ironic, isn't it, that Kerry distorted his own four months of service to make himself out a hero, while distorting the admirable service of everyone around himself to make THEM look like war criminals and baby killers.

That is what I was wondering. Only someone not paying attention, or someone who is a diehard liberal could consider Kerry a war hero. Which is it Joe?

No, his link wasn't ignored by me; I read it. I just ass-u-med it was taken from a previous post of his. It's a blood boiler, and you're right, it needs a post of its own.

Hi, I lived in Jefferson County for about 12 years and in Fenton for 1 year. Down in Louisana now; but, wishing I was in St. Louis area.

Welcome to Free Republic.

He'll say anything for ratings, which are lower than low for him. Sad to see a formerly decent guy become a ratings *hore.

The Best Years of Our Lives (1946)

Winning seven Academy Awards (including Best Picture), this classic drama follows three World War II veterans as they return to small-town America. Homer (Harold Russell), Al (Fredric March) and Fred (Dana Andrews) are desolate as they try to come to terms with their experiences. Best Supporting Actor Russell, a real veteran who lost his hands in the war, also won an Honorary Oscar "for bringing hope and courage to his fellow veterans."

Is there an honorary Oscar Hollywood can give to Kerry for bringing the opposite to his fellow Veterans? After all, Kerry did star in a movie. His own.

"Ironic, isn't it, that Kerry distorted his own four months of service to make himself out a hero, while distorting the admirable service of everyone around himself to make THEM look like war criminals and baby killers."

How many others got out in four months? How many others turned being a traitor into being a senator?

How many others just didn't come home?

When I remember all the friends I lost in Nam it makes me ill to see him parading his lies.

John Gibson is doing a great job filling in for Flip-Flop O'Reilly on the Swifties. I wish they would make it permanent.

I stopped watching him about a month ago, when he stated that Kerry is "someone he could put his trust in."

OMG, I saw that movie just a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't seen it in years and it made me think of my Daddy and Daddy-in-law who were true war heroes. Thanks for the reminder.

I just read it--no good on the first read. It does need it's own thread.

Hello, small world, isn't it? I have lived in Fenton for 20 years. Your new home can be fun tho, we vacation in New Orleans at least once a year.

Glad to be here, MOgirl

Let's FReep Fox news and get Gibson his just due!!! HA!!
Too bad I don't have much faith in that action. Fox has gone down the dim-witted road as far as I'm concerned. I still watch Brit Hume hoping for Charles Krauthammer, but not much else. When they cut out early on the President's speech today I decided enough was enough.
