THE FROZEN TUNDRA OF... LAMBERT FIELD? [08/26 08:05 PM]

Steve Chaggaris of CBS News reports:

On Wednesday, Kerry made his third visit to Green Bay, Wis., this year and made it a point to focus on the main thing the city revolves around: football and the Green Bay Packers... As he was taking questions from the audience, he referred to the legendary Packers stadium, Lambeau Field (which has been called that for 39 years) as "Lambert Field."

If the voters catch wind of that gaffe, it could take Kerry another three visits to Green Bay to make up for it.

>>(shaking head) Lambert field? Lambert field? Has this man never watched Sportscenter? Never listened to Chris Berman? Has he never heard John Facenda's NFL Films voice? The low, rumbling Voice-of-God? As in, "the Frozen tundra of (already-deep voice dropping another four octaves) Lammmbeauuuu Field..."<<

Well which is it? Lambert Field or Lambeau Field. An earlier post seemed to indicate it is really Lambert and he called it Lambeau.

Okay. It was better when I thought he was calling Lambert "Lambeau," but whatever.

Caption?

It's L-A-M-B-E-A-U. Anyone who calls it Lambert field is obviously not a football fan...which is kind of ironic since all Kerry seems to do on the campaign trail is throw footballs around.

Freudian slip.

R.E. Lambert was listed as the witness on that
apparently falsified recommendation that Kerry wrote up
for Thurlow's Bronze Star. Lambert was also recommended
for a Bronze by Kerry in that same action.

The Kerry Kamp has apparently been in recent contact
with Lambert.

Lambert is on his mind.

Have you ever played Football with Kerry? How can you criticize Kerry if you've never played in Lambert Field! ;)

It's Lambeau...

Lambert Field is Saint Louis's International Airport.

But then again, you can't expect a Frenchman to know that.

This is not the first sports gaffe by the corpse.

To confuse the University of Michigan and Ohio State University when it comes to football makes the Swift boat controversy look like baking cookies.

So was this one:

"The truth, which is what elections are all about, is that the tax burden of the middle class has gone up while the tax burden of the middle class has gone down."--John Kerry, quoted by the Associated Press, Aug. 25

IIRC, Carolyn Kennedy-Townsend said her favorite part of the game was when the Ravens "made a football".
