Zoroastrian Magi forsees fall of Iranian Government on October 1st, 2004

Edited on 08/28/2004 8:15:04 PM PDT by Admin Moderator. [history]

A respected Iranian ex-patriot, Dr. Ahura Pirouz Khaleghi Yazdi, hosts a news program on a southern California based Iranian satellite broadcasting station (Rangarang TV, which means colorful), has recently announced he is returning to Iran to serve as a catalyst for a regime change in Iran no later than that date.

He claims to have the support of leaders inside the Iranian government and military institutions and has booked several chartered aircraft for his return to Iran with his supporters on or before that date.

Dr. Yazdi is a highly respected Iranian Zoroastrian, but a return to Iran without massive public support and protection would surely end in his immediate arrest. This move on his part is one of the boldest of any Iranian ex-patriot in recent memory.

Very little has been published on his efforts in the media and while it is hard to believe that he has sufficient support inside of Iran to protect him, still he is the first such Iranian to make such a bold challenge to the regime.

We need to watch for the reaction of Iranians inside of Iran to this ongoing story.

Background information:

He recently held a press conference at the National Press Club, August 24, 2004.

Dr. Yazdi says he's had holy visions that the Iranian government will fall to the people on October 1st, 2004. 50 airplanes will be flying him and others to Iran on that day.

I don't know what Yazdi's plan is but it better be a good one and it better not be some bs lowsy plan - because this is very very dangerous what he is speaking of. I hope and pray that the f*ing regime is gone by Oct 1st, but I don;t know what he plans to do when he flies into Iran and is confronted by some Hezbollah fanatics hired by Mullah -

Of course if the Iranian people are aware of soem sort of secret plan and covert actions to take down the regime - and Yazdi's action is just one part of the overall strategy - then hell yes, go for it and take the bastards OUT!!!!

Sounds like 3 possible scenarios:

1) The regime could deny him entry into Iran
2)They could arrest him when he steps off the plane
3)They could wait to see who he meets with, and then arrest all of them.

Mr. Yazdi, God bless you. But to think that he mullahs are going to give up their lives and you know that will be the second thing they give up after their jobs, makes Mr. Yazdi’s home coming at best a media event. That itself is good, but at what cost, martyrdom? There has been too many. Refocusing world attention could get lost in the talk of how naïve this move is. Good luck and I hope you really know something that escapes most of us.

Can you read basic english? The title of the article says "Zoroastrian Magi", and it says "Zoroastrian" in the text.

We need an IQ test for people on Freerepublic, this is getting ridiculous.

He's a Zoroastrian, not a Muslim.  As far as Islam goes, that puts him even further beyond the pale than Jews and Christians.  The Religion of Peace classifies Jews and Christians as "people of the Book", at least,

Actually the 3 wisemen were thought of as being 'magi', which is the name for Zoroastrian Priest and Zoroastrians believe that Christians go to heaven.

You forget, people in the US have no Idea what Zoroastrianism is, we think of some ancient paganism back to the time of Alexander or Cyrus or something...

I still dont get it, I wonder just what Zoroaster had to do with the religion named after him!

It is a very ancient religion and both Christianity and Judism are said to be based on it. It was the first religion to recognize One God. The Magi were from Persia, home of the Zoasters. The similarities between the astounding. It IS from the time of Cyrus (and before). As you know, Cyrus is mentioned quite favorably in the Bible as the friend and savior of the Jewish people. He rescued them and kept them safe.

I agree completely - as you said, if he knows something that we know nothing of, then he's in a better position to make a wise decision, however: what he is speaking of, especially if it has not been coordinated fully with all other forces is very dangerous.

I wish Yazdi well.

First of all, Freedom44 is Christian! Decond of all I am Catholic. Persians come in all shapes, sizes and religions - so relax: half the people in this thread need to calm the hell down with the "Mr Knowitall Ego" thing they've got going. Those who don't relax and read a book end up sounding like complete idiots to those of us who have a bit of intelligence.

Zoroastrianism is all about GOOD WORDS, GOOD THOUGHTS and GOOD DEEDS - Monotheistic religion. Way before the popular religions of today - in fact most of the relgiions piggybacked off of Zoroastrianism.

Did you see this one?

THE GEOPOLITICAL INTELLIGENCE REPORT

However, win or lose, we must remember > that on the day after the election, Bush will be president and will never > face election again. He might be president for two months or four years, but he will remain president. In either case, he will be more concerned about his place in history and his own sense of what must be done than in political considerations. It follows that he will try to shape the war decisively in either case.

Al Qaeda will be facing, in either case, a world in which it has failed to ignite the Islamic masses and in which the general political tendencies in the Islamic world have not only not fulfilled al Qaeda's hopes, but have moved against them. At some point, they will have to assert themselves somewhere. Al Qaeda has political goals and it must generate some movement toward achieving them. With those two imperatives in mind, the decline in the importance of the > Iraqi theater of operations will generate massive forces pointing to further military confrontations after the elections, quite apart from the threat of terrorist actions.
